Hi Sharadha, Excellent info! Sure as you posted, it is always better to check labels whenever you are shopping. In fact, from the begining, i try to avoid sodas-regular or diet for my entire family. Somehow, i feel people drink it for fizz , thereby their water intake is also reduced. Hope more people become aware of this after reading your article and reach for more healthy alternatives. Cheers Krithika ( Jithiks)

hi sarada, i read that article about diet coke. is it that only diet coke or pepsi is harmful to have? i've been using sugar free tablets contains aspartame with my coffee / tea. these sugar free tablets also very harmful? pl reply

Hi Krithi, Thanks for your quick reply . As you said people drink for fizz. Its always better to have water or fresh juices rather than having these kind of stuff. But kids still prefer having drinks with fizz. We need to make them understand how harmful this is to our body.Last edited by sharadha : 6th April 2008 at 09:00 AM.

Hi Seetha, Thanks for your reply. In general, drinks with fizz are not good to have. Especially during hot summer its good to have drinking water / fresh juices rather than drinks with fizz. While I was conversing with a doctor he said that one calorie drinks are all hoaxes, even sugar free tablets also take people for a ride. Its better to consult your doctor before using such tablets.

Dear Sharadha, thank you for such a eye opening post. Thank God that I am not in the habit of driniking hte fizzy drinks, even the packaged drinks for that matter. I drink fresh juice or water instead or tender coconut water. Even sweet juice will not quench my thirst. I have also made this a habit with my son that he will take only healthy things. Actually, I was told to cut out on sugar to help reduce weight. I was recommended artificial sweeteners. But I did not like the bitter taste at the end so am taking coffee and tea without sugar at all. My son too does the same. My dietician tells me to take a little of sweets instead of taking sugarfree sweets. Thank you.
