Default early to bed early to rise or late to bed late to rise

Hi,

It may look absurd because everyone of us in this mechanical world can't even think of late to bed late to rise.

I have enjoyed both. Before marriage i used go for early morning classes. It was a wonderful experience. When we get up early we get plenty of time to manage our day to day activities and we are fresh through out the day.
After marriage my husband would come late and i Had to spend time with him and we would walk around enjoying the night breeze and i get up very late.

Now a days,i get up early in the morning to send my dd to school and go to bed late to give company to my dh.

Both are wonderful.People who go late to bed will always enjoy the night life and people who get up early will always enjoy early morning life. Both are wonderful in each one's point of view.

Even in IL i can see shanvy's messages at 5.00am and also devika's messages even late nights.

WHich would you all prefer.Early morning charmness(which is also silent) or silent latenights(which is also charmful).Share your views.

Kamala,

I like early to bed early to rise. I make it a point to my DD and DS they have to sleep at 9.00 maximum 9.30 if they have some work..so that they can get up at 5.00/4.30 accordingly. so I make it a point to got to bed by 9.30 for the sake of the kids..though after that i read upto 11.00 or 11.30.

I just like the calmness and freshness of the morning. My DS goes for cricket coaching by 5.30...so i have to wake up 5.00.. and also the school bus comes by 7.30 so it is a busy schedule for me...

Early to bed and early to rise is better I think .... tho given a chance I would definitely curl up in bed for sometime more :)

It was always a five o clock schedue for me since office would start at 8.... so sleeping late ( except on sunday ) was a strict NO No...

First with Jeff and now Joshua ( make that a total of sixteen years ).. I am not only up at five but u can find me wandering the streets too at a quiarter past five :) ( ( mean taking them for a walk)... so its early to bed ... atleast in bed by ten thirty and reading for sometime.... ... but personallly I think.. early to bed .. makes you more fresh :)

kamala,

I too prefer going early to bed and early to rise.................i make the kids sleep by 9 in the night, wake them up by 5.30 or 6am, of course i wake up by 5 or 5.15 do yoga, meditaiton..........ideal time to do meditations, no sound, very calm.......relax for a while and start my daily chores..............cooking breakfast, pack lunch...............its such a hectic schedule,

But sometimes when my husband turns up very late in the nights, i wake up at 6 am and no time to do my yoga, meditations.......in fact i miss them................so very strictly i go to bed by 9.30 and wake up early

hi,

good thread. i have adopted both the ways at the different stages of my life.

at this stage of mine, i go late to bed and most of the time rise early. what to do, my work is like that.

people who belong to media likes only night work. unless and until you get the satisfaction in your work, you won't be able to sleep. same is with me, as it is more of creative work.

otherwise the early morning freshness and the night calmness are pleasant in their own ways. according to your work, family and situation you can adopt any of one of them. nothing wrong.

felt really good sharing it here. thanks for the opportunity.

Dear Krittika,

Hey nice to know a guardian angel named Krittika watching over me.
But dear I am also an early morning bird so rest assured I make the most of the silent and charming.
Even if I retire to bed at 3 I have to essentially get up by 6.30 - 7.00a m. Duties and responsibilities.

Yes for me whats important is my siesta ,I catch up some sleep in the afternoon.

Love,
Devika

dear devika,

great dissappointment.I was expecting some arguments in favour of the latter.Me too sailing in the same boat.I would take rest in after noons. If i have to tell the truth, I enjoy going late to sleep and getting up early in morning.I want to enjoy both.We cannot enjoy the night world alone as is not safe. But with my dh i love to go for a walk in main roads and have icecreams in move n pick.(If you haven;t tried please try swiss icecreams here). That too during my dd's vacation we enjoy like anything. On newyear eves we would go to M.G Road to enjoy the new year(Even my Fil (63)used to come with us to enjoy).

Hi there,

Its a nice discussion. I enjoy both. Given me an option, I would prefer to sleep around 10 and wake up by 6. My hubby is also an early to bed and early to rise person..and he mostly follows it. My preference is during weekdays, it should be to sleep early and wake up early...and weekends can be a little lazy!

Regards,
Hema

p.s: After this Metro work started in MG Road, I dont feel like visiting it. Anyways, where do you get the Swiss ice-cream and do they have 'No-gelatine' ice-creams...I mean completely vegetarian??
