Need help in how to dress myself in one of my close freinds wedding

It could be great if you can describe yourself (Tall/Short/Fair/medium etc).
Dressing Aptly would add more elegance to your looks on the days. Well let me generally advise you on this part.

decide if you are planning to attend the Marriage or reception and then decide on the costume:

Marriage:
A kancheevaram/banares saree would give an ethnic touch to the occassion.
If you are tall, you can shoose saree with Big Borders and contrasting colours. This would go well only with tall ppl.If the saree is with heavy big designs keep the Blouse design simple and neat.

If you are short prefer Small Borders/No Border sarees.With Single colour sarees highlite the Blouse with nice embroidery and zardosi work.

If you saree is Grand ,go with minimal accessories and the vice versa.
On going for a Kancheevaram , a traditional kemp jewellery would add magic. If Banares you can choose Kundan work jewels. Also if you are wearing a heavy Neck piece wear a thin/small earring and the vice versa.

Hair do totally depends on your Face type. Do not experiment anything new unless you are very comfortable with it.To play safe , leave the hair loose neatly(with hairpins ) and keep a small chutti on the head.


Have a Minimal but a neat make up. Always highlite the Eyes or the Lips in the make up and NEVER BOTH.

Reception:

A neat designer saree or a Salwar (Anarkali )would do good for this.

As said above the saree and Accessories should always compliment each other. A heavy saree with heavy Accesories is a strict NO NO.

Choose Salwars based on your Body Type and Colour.

One tip on the colour:As generally Receptions are held in the evenings, choose for Bolder colours (dar Blue,Black(yeah , not many prefer for marriages as it is considered as Inauspicious)) with nice mirror work .

Remember however you dress your face and Smile are your best accesories.
