Dear Friends

Dont know whether this is the right place to post this thread .. We are planning for a week trip to london and scotland .. Our travel agent has given Five options for sight seeing in glasgow.Pls help me to chose the best option. We are planning to be there in the month of September for 3 days . Also let me know abt the weather at that time , since i will be travelling with my 10mth old baby..

Thanks in advance .

Option : 01

The Tall Ship at Glasgow Harbour,

Glasgow, United Kingdom

Get a feel for the incredible shipbuilding heritage of the River Clyde which dates back to 1711, with an enjoyable visit to the S.V. Glenlee, 'The Tall Ship at Glasgow Harbour'.

The Tour

Experience Glasgow's maritime history first hand by visiting the Tall Ship, built on the River Clyde in 1896. Take the wheel, explore the cargo hold, visit the galley - this unique experience takes you back in time to discover what life was really like on the high seas! There are changing exhibitions and an events programme running throughout the year.

Option : 02

Stirling, Loch Lomond & Glengoyne Distillery

Glasgow, United Kingdom

A fascinating tour that will introduce you to the history of Stirling, with it's famous Castle and the beauty of Loch Lomond National Park.

Duration of tour: 10 hours

The Tour

We start our tour with a drive to the medieval city of Stirling. Here there is an opportunity to visit Stirling Castle. The Castle overlooks the ancient city of Stirling and is one of the historic buildings that have come to symbolise the spirit of Scotland. Our extended stop in Stirling will allow a leisurely visit to the castle or the chance to explore the town itself. The Trossachs is a wonderful area of lochs and wild mountain vistas. We travel by Loch Venachar the climb the dramatic Dukes Pass to the pretty village of Aberfoyle, where we will make a stop for lunch (not included). The Queen of Scotland's lakes - Loch Lomond - is sure to put a song in your heart! Loch Lomond is the largest stretch of inland water in Britain and we'll make a stop here so you can take a stroll along the 'bonnie bonnie banks'. Our last stop of the day is to pretty Glengoyne Malt Whisky Distillery. As well as having a behind the scenes tour to learn all about the distillers art there will be a chance to taste the end product too!

Option : 03

Loch Ness, Glencoe & the Highlands

Glasgow, United Kingdom

Mystery, myth, legend and history, set amongst some of the most breathtaking scenery of the Scottish Highlands.

Duration of tour: 12 hours 10 mins

The Tour

From Glasgow we travel north, tracing the length of Loch Lomond, over Rannoch Moor and the Black Mount, to awesome, tragic Glencoe, the setting for myth, misdeed and magnificence. We enter the Great Glen beneath Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, hugging canal, river and loch-side. We will pass Fort Augustus, tracing the 24 mile shoreline of Loch Ness, stopping at Urquhart Castle. Here, you may wish to visit the castle (entrance fee is not included) - a spot made famous by many an alleged sighting of the Loch Ness Monster. At Inverness we turn for home, traversing the Grampians and the Forest of Atholl, with a choice of refreshment stops en route.

Includes

Transport by luxurious 16-seat Mercedes coach, services of a highly knowledgeable professional Timberbush driver guide and the Timberbush Pocket Pass, which entitles the holder to discounts at a range of venues in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Option : 04

Glasgow Tour City Sightseeing

Glasgow, United Kingdom

A Hop-on Hop-off sightseeing tour of Glasgow.

The Tour

Join the Glasgow Tour for an entertaining and colourful insight into Glasgow past and present.

Transportation by coach and recorded multi-lingual commentary.

Option : 05

Oban, West Highland Lochs and Castles

Glasgow, United Kingdom

Spend a day travelling through a landscape of incredible natural beauty - a land of ancient castles mirrored in lochs and sheltered in castles.

Duration of tour: 9 hours

The Tour

Leaving dynamic Glasgow we head west to the Highlands, passing Dumbarton's imposing rock and impressive castle. From here on, our 'road to the isles' is marked by more dramatic castles (Inveraray, Kilchurn, Dunstaffnage), shimmering lochs (Lomond, Long, Fyne, Awe, Etive), imposing mountains and rugged glens. We'll make a stop in the village of Luss on the 'bonnie banks' of Loch Lomond, before climbing through stunning scenery to the summit of the pass. Here we'll have time to rest, before descending to sea level at Loch Fyne. We'll stop at Inveraray with its Georgian Houses at the waters edge and also at picturesque Oban, with its horseshoe bay. We will visit either Inveraray Castle or Dunstaffnage Castle (subject to seasonal opening times). On our descent we'll enjoy breathtaking views across Loch Awe to the ruins of Kilchurn Castle, before heading back to Glasgow.

Includes

Transport by luxurious 16-seat Mercedes coach, the services of a highly knowledgeable professional Timberbush driver guide and the Timberbush Pocket Pass, which entitles the holder to discounts at a range of venues in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
