Dharmishtha
It appears that you have already seen a doctor because you mention that your daughter's condition has been diagnosed as atopic dermatitis. Is your daughter on any medication right now? Does she also have respiratory conditions like asthma or allergic rhinitis?
The word
atopic itself means that
this condition is hereditary and that it runs in your family, so your daughter is genetically predisposed to this condition. The cause of the allergy can be anything, ranging from dust to some type of food or metal or clothing or even stress. There is an
itch-scratch cycle which is aggravated by the dry skin condition.
It is very difficult to identify the specific cause of the allergy, but if the flare-ups occur because of allergy to some food, try to identify what food is causing the flare-ups. You need to gently tell your daughter that she is allergic to certain types of food and that she should avoid them. If possible,
don't keep such food at home and avoid eating this food at home. The other members of your family need to co-operate for the sake of the good health of your daughter.
Apart from this, you need to advice your daughter to
use a bland moisturizer like petroleum jelly or coconut oil to keep her skin moisturized all the time. If you don't want to use petroleum jelly or coconut oil, a heavy
fragrance-free moisturizer should work well. Your daughter also needs to keep herself hydrated by
drinking enough water, enough means that her urine should remain clear. She should also
avoid using soap because it dries the skin further and should use soap-free products for her bath and personal hygeine. She should
avoid bathing with hot water and should use lukewarm water. Since winter is approaching, please see that she does not use clothing made from synthetic material right next to her skin. The
synthetic material can aggravate the itching. Also, try to use a
fragrance-free gentle detergent to wash your daughter's clothes, and make sure they are rinsed well enough so that all the detergent is washed off.
I don't know if your daughter is currently on any medication or if you are seeing a doctor now. Atopic dermatitis is usually treated with corticosteroids and anti-histamines by Allopathic doctors. These types of medicines help to reduce the itch-scratch cycle, but the condition can return once the medicines are discontinued. Corticosteroids can also have side-effects.
I suggest that you take your daughter to a homoeopathy doctor in your city. Your profile shows that you live in Ahmedabad. I cannot suggest you any doctors, but here is a list of homoeopathic doctors in Ahmedabad that I found online:

Since your daughter is young, homoeopathic treatment started in the early stages can completely cure her condition and also prevent the future generations from getting it through heredity. I hope you consider my suggestion - it comes not only from my educational background but also my personal experience. I also had a very bad case of eczema for 4 years that was cured with homoeopathy in 3 months. Here is another link to some more information for you:
