Since you are in USA, go to Wal-Mart garden section and get Safer Insectacidal Soap in pump bottle. It is safe soap for plants and contains need oil. It is Insectacidal and fungicide so it will take care of multiple problems but without harmful chemicals.

Sorry for the later response....I have been away. I did not give you a chemical recommendation but a natural one. I stand by it.

Hi springsnb, thanks for opening this thread. I'd the same problem with Black nightshade plant. I sprayed them with neem seed oil dilute, which is what tina [tashidelek] also suggested, although there is a typo in her post. I've neem oil concentrate and this is a natural insecticide. I went by the suggested ratio for dilution as prescribed on the bottle with little effect. The subsequent spray, I almost doubled the oil concentrate and found very good results. I noticed tiny little bugs running all over my plant and after an intial spray, almost all of them vanished.

The spray also took care of powdery mildew on my rose plants, but the rose slugs keep infesting my plant time and again. I regularly hand-pick them and trash them; I can't squish them. The magic of neem oil has been discussed on the same gardening forum. Search and you'll get.
