hi revathi,

Recently i gave away the few seeds that i could get from my plants. will keep watch, and if i can, i will find out if i can get you some from the nursery.

I grow them in pots.

I think than the bright orange, there is a variety that is more papery, and brighter oranger/leaning towards red that can tolerate all climates..it more local variety found in rural villages. (called naatu kanakambaram)

Hi Shanvy

Thanks for your help - if I remember right, the nattu kanakambaram withers in a day while the yellow, orange and Delhi varieties last about 3 days!! I wonder whether all varieties produce seeds?!!!

Revathi,

All of them produce seeds, but the most prominently seen is the seeds of the orange one.

the naatu kanakambaram though looks like it withers does sustain the look in my opinion.

These days even the others kanakambaram look wilted once removed from the plant..though i remember they used to be looking so fresh for days after plucking..

Vandannav:

You might have to wait some more at Ikea for kanakambaram flowers. I remember seeing them in Ikea 'last spring' in the UK.
