    Dear friends,

most of you might remember my thread about our summer yard.

    http://www.indusladies.com/forums/gardening/105122-our-summer-yard.html

As promised then, it is time for my fall yard!! The colors changed - not very spectacular this time around, leaves fell and now it is bare . But we always have our winter friends (as my kids call them) visiting us in our yard. Even though the trees are so bare, I am still posting their pictures :) As I prepare for winter - cleaning up, trimming back, so do they come - to prepare and stock up for the winter. With a predicted 2-4 inches snow today, we had quite a few of them yesterday and here are some pictures for all of you. Hope you enjoy them!!

PS - please bear with the picture quality as they were taken through the windows.

    Dear Sabitha,

Wow, you must be loving the visits of your 'winter friends' :).

So colorful visitors to your place in all seasons. I remember reading about the yellow canries from your post in summer yard, and I had googled to find more info about them :-D.

Thanx for sharing the lovely pics.

Absolutely Saraswathi. You did remember the canaries.....I am learning all about birds thanks to the yard! We have some friends who live in the country side and actually keep a log of the different types of birds that visit them!!! Thanks for your sweet comments.

Thank you Ramavyasarajan for your lovely comments.

Thank you saroj for your very sweet words, as I said the snow has begun to accumulate now and we are trying to stay warm indoors :)

This the miracle of nature as in some months you get to see colours and some only grey, but these winter birds will give you company, is it only till the snow fall????????????
Lucky to live with the nature, Srama

You must have a birdfeeder to have so many birds. I am a little perplexed though about talk of canaries as they are not wild birds in N America...was it perhaps goldfinches? The cardinals are always so beautiful especially in winter when their red coats stand against the white snow. A few years ago my neighbor had baby cardinals in her front bush and I went over to look at them. They are almost bald but everything on them was red: beaks, skin, tongues, eyes...you name it. It was quite extraordinary.
