Hi Shanthi,

Thank you very much. I use methi frequently. We 3 love methi kuttu, methi chappati etc., In Madras we will not get the big methi plant. Here in Saudi we use to get them.

Even in North India we use to get them. But in Madras only we get small two leaf methi. So I put seed before comming here. So that when I reach we can use fresh methi leaves. We use them by keeping them in the freezer and even we use dried one.

Actually in the house where we are living now, the house owner keept gaint size tubs as compound wall instead of full brick wall. So we can plant many plants on them. So it is out of reach for cows. And krishna told they are green and no insects on them. There is one gardener for the whole colony and he will take care of the plants and he will water them .

Only saturday and sunday Krishna will do the work. Thank you once again. I will see that thread also.

Yes, you are right it is jaji (jaathi malli). I don't have single layer (5 petals) but I have double layer, I have belle of india, and flora plena, sanna jaji, nithyamalli.
I have patchouli (3rd one in the picture) Henna (4th one) Henna is flowering, but patchouli is yet flower.

Here are some of my other jasmines I grow.
1 flora plena
2 Belle of India or elongeta and two layer jasmine or jasminium sambac
3. Belle of India
4. Nithyamalli
5. sanna jaji

Sorry some of the pictures may not be very clear.

This year they flowered like crazy even in this weather. They have stopped flowering now except jaji and sanna jaji. Even kanakambaram did well this year.

Here is a snap of the white mandarai flower from my garden. I have no idea about its name in English.

Shanthi,
I am collecting the seeds and preserving them. If some one want, do let me know. It does not need much caring, just grows by itself.

Thanks Tulasi and anandchitra,
I got them from logees. I had mullai too, but unfortunately it did not survive. They have lot of tropical plants. You will love their website. Their website is Tropical Container Plants For Home and Garden - Logee's default page

Buy from them when they have sale. Usually they will have sale in July and August for jasmine plants. If you sign up for their email specials, they will email you when they have sale.

I have 2 or 3 adukku malli plants I can give you some cuttings of addukku malli in spring if you can come and get them. You are not too far away from me. I will also try some airlayering. I will let you know when they are ready in spring.

Anandchitra,
They are all in pots. I bring them inside when the night temperature drops below 45. I keep most of them in garage some in my dining room. My garage has glass panels on the top, that helps sunlight to come through and keeps garage warm and bright. Last year I kept them in garage they all survived. I can also give cuttings if you are close by.
