Hello,
I usually water them whenever I see there is less water in the vase.
It is good to change water/clean the vase every 15 days.
Don't put cold water, it is better to use filter water.
And you have to be careful if plant is dieing.
I don't know if this is superstitious, but I have noticed many times that,
if any stem is dieing, we should replace immediately else something bad
would happen (like money problem, going out of project etc).
So remove the dead one immediately and replace with healthy stem.
Indeed, this is a lucky one for me and my family.

Sunitha,
I think the straight ones grow more faster than the curled ones. Get the vase, keep the plant, add pebbles and water( I use normal water) it. When planning to buy a vase, buy little bigger so that you do not have to change often . Like Punitha said, I also add water whenever I see the water is less. But my friend waters it every day. Also keep the plant in a shady area, where there is not much exposure to sun.

BTW, how many stalks did you buy?

Madhu,
Thank you! If you buy
5 stalks -- brings wealth to the house,
7 stalks - keeps you healthy, and
21 stalks -total prosperity.
I do not know how far this is true, but it's working for me. All the best!

Dear Sindhuja

I have only 1 stalk ,as I told you earlier,I got it out of curiosity, nothing else.I usually buy the least amount of anything when I am not sure how to use it and to buy that itself,I will stand in front of it in the store and think for about 10 minutes on whether I really do need it or not! Even if I get the faintest doubt in my mind,I will not buy the item. Sometimes,I feel I am not fit to be a woman:icon_frown: because unlike most women who like to spend on clothes, cosmetics, jewellery etc, I hardly do anything of that sort. My husband has to force me to buy something for myself most of the time, can you believe that

Having said all that ,now that you have given me an idea, maybe I will go for 20 more, because now there is a reason to buy 20 more!

Lots of information about the 'lucky bamboo', which at first i thought it to be an ordinary indoor plant.
Maybe I will try to buy it from the Indian store here and also look for the number of stalks

Dear Sunitha,
Your husband should be very lucky. I also think twice before buying anything. Sometimes I will give myself a week or 10 days time to check if I really like it.
If I still feel that I want it, then I will buy it. Post your lucky bamboo picture, if time permits.

All the best!
