Make Terrarium in 3 easy Steps!!

It takes less than an hour to make a [thread=181]Terrarium[/thread]. Can be made less expensive with the use of cheap yet great looking glass containers, jars or even goldfish bowls. The terrarium plants you’ll use are generally small houseplants. Terrariums also make wonderful and impressive gifts, even for people who consider themselves Garden-challenged. Materials

• Glass containers with or without tops
• Gravel, pebbles, sea glass or beach stones
• Activated charcoal (found at a nursery or pet supply store)
• Terrarium plants
• Sterile potting mix (Soil)
• Moss (optional)
• Decorative elements (optional)

Steps

1. Cover the bottom of the container with an inch of pebbles/stones.
2. Add a layer of activated carbon, top it with 3 inches of soil, and create your garden from the stones, moss, and small plants.
3. Mist the terrarium until the soil is moist but not wet. Add decorations, if you like, then close the lid. If the container becomes cloudy, remove the top to let excess moisture evaporate. Mist the terrarium lightly if the soil starts to dry out.

Choosing a Terrarium Plant

When choosing terrarium plants, make sure they are small enough to fit in your terrarium, also look for plants that like low to medium light. To make attractive try to get a mix of sizes, leaf textures and leaf colors.
