Markazhi - month of kolams

I had learnt quite a few and this is a good chance to refresh my memory.

I draw small kolams with chalk in front of my home!

I did see the posting on kannan kavacham. It is a lot of effort you have put in!

You have posted the rigt post at the right time ! Marghazhi is known for kolams...

Seeing your attached kolams I was just thrilled...I can used all those 3/4 pulli kolams on my pooja table ! I put kolam everyday and I keep repeating same one's (from my small kolam collections ) again and again ! now, I have huge varieties to choose from.

Thanks for the kolam attachments (I can make sure of only the pulli kolams and not others, as my poojai table is not big enough to accommodate big kolams ! ).

A big thank you for the kolams. I draw kolam everyday in my pooja room since it is very cold to step outside. Will use your collection also. Brings back memories when you talk of Markazhi seening the wonderful kolams in front of everybody's house. Am homesick now

Another whole hearted attempt on your part to bring us the basics of kolams. It is extremely useful to people like me. You have awakened an interest for kolams in me and apart from the most simple ones, I had no idea about the pulli kolams and was always wondering as to how it works. Thanks for those detailed pics, very very easy to follow and instructive.

I am posting only small kolams, suitable for a small place. Big kolams are not on my agenda at all !
The apatmt kolams can also be drawn on a small scale on the swami table easily.

More than Chennai, as we go down south, kolams are breath-taking.
I was deeply involved in drawing kolam in front of my house, till 10 yrs back. Once we shifted to a flat, the interest waned !
