My understanding of seemantham is to bless the conceptions with the change in uterus. The results of one seemantham is considered to bless future conceptions as well.
Any way I didnot have any too. Only babyshower given by friends at work during my first one and second one I was a stay at home mom.

Dear Chithra Maami,
Thanks a lot for guiding us step by step about each process of the function.
We are celebrating Valaikappu & Seemantham for my sis-in-law next month and we are planning to buy return gifts for guests. Could you please suggest some gifts that could be given as part of this function to elders ( my athai's and maami's) attending the function. Gift range: Rs, 75 - Rs. 100 .I wanted to buy something useful for them different from usual kuthu vilaku type. For my cousins, We am planning to buy jewellery purses. Your suggestions are greatly apperciated.

Thanks
Priya

Dear Priya,
Please visit the new Giri Traders - gifts section. You get a large variety of things.
You can get in a wide prize range also. I usually go there.
For ever there is a state handicrafts exhibition in some part or other of South Chennai- Gujarath, N E states etc. You get lovey handcrafted useful things there.
Love,
Chithra.
