Meenakshi Thirukalyanam is celebrated today in my city Madurai !

It was nice to know all about the Thirukalyanam in Madurai. Sitting so far away, one could still feel the thrill of it all after reading your post.
The picture was so beautiful and I feel lucky to have seen it on this day.

Th story behind Thirukkalyanam was very intersting. I did not know it. You took us through the festive atmosphere of madurai by your flow of words. Are the items you mentioned still served every year. I think I should see the kalyanam at least once. Does the kalyanam takeplace inside the temple?
