Sarvajith – Let us pray for a Happy New Year, Friends !

That our country celebrates many New Years ( Tamil & English New Years, Yugadi etc) indicates that the New Year is a relative and not an absolute concept. So we need not be bothered about which one to celebrate ! Any New Year is alright.

The purpose of having a New Year celebration is to examine what is happening in our lives. Let us learn to take responsibility for each and every action of ours and seek the grace of the Lord through prayers, visiting temples etc.

When we pray, we must learn, not to ask for the impossible. We must pray
“ Oh Lord, let me do all activity with a cheerful mind. Let me find inspiration in all activities I do. Let me also enjoy all my activities”.

We must remember, the future is never under our control. We can only contribute to the future, never control it. Let us do the same with cheerfulness and enthusiasm. We must pray
“ Oh Lord, let me contribute my best. Let me enjoy what I do. Let me have cheerfulness and enthusiasm”.

We must realise that we can never change other people, but only accept them as they are and pray
“ Oh Lord, help me accommodate others – those who are changing for the better, who are changing for the worse and who do not change. Let me contribute the maximum to the other person’s growth”.

Hoping for an ideal set up of satisfaction and security in one’s life is a dream and can never be achieved. So we pray
“ Oh Lord, let me discover security in myself, whatever be the set up”.

If we have such prayers, the Lord will cooperate. Praying thus, let us grow and contribute our best.

ஸர்வஜித் என்ற பெயருள்ள இந்த வருஷத்தில் பெயருக்குத் தகுந்தாற்போல் அனைவருக்கும் அனைத்திலும் வெற்றி கிட்டும். அனைவரும் ஆன்மீகத்தில் ஈடுபாட்டுடன் நல்லவர்களாகத் தேவர்களைப் போல் பிரகாசிப்பார்கள்.
தலைவர்கள் அனைத்திலும் வெற்றி காண்பார்கள்.

ஸர்வஜித்தை பற்றிய வெண்பா;

ஸருவஜித்துத் தன்னில் - நலத்தில் பலவும்
ஒரு பதினெட்டு வித்துமோங்கும் - பெருமையுடன்
மிக்கவிளை வுண்டோம் மென்மேலும் மாரியுண்டாம்
தக்கசுகம் பெருகுந்தான்

ஸர்வஜித் வருஷத்தில் மக்களின் நலன் அதிகரிக்கும்.
பதினெட்டு வகை தானியங்களும் நன்கு விளைந்து பூமி செழிக்கும்.
பெருமை கொள்ளும்படியான விளைச்சல் உண்டாகும்.
அடிக்கடி மழை பெய்யும்; இன்பங்கள் பெருகும்.

15-04-2007 ன்று காலை புத்தாண்டு தொடங்குகிறது. இன்று காலை கண்விழித்ததும் காய்கறிகள், பழ வகைகள், புஷ்பங்கள், மஞ்சள், குங்குமம், தங்கம், வெள்ளி முதலான மங்களப் பொருட்களை முதன் முதலாகக் காண்பதே விஷுக்கனி எனப்படும். இந்தப் பொருட்களை முதல் நாள் இரவே பூஜை அறையில் வைத்துவிட்டு, காலையில் கண்விழித்ததும், முதலில், இவைகளைப் பார்க்கவேண்டும், வருஷம் முழுவதும், நம் வீடு செழிப்பாக இருக்கும்.

தமிழ் புத்தாண்டுக்கும், சுவாமிமலைக்கும் நெருங்கிய தொடர்பு உண்டு.மற்ற மலைக்கோவில்களைப் போல் அல்லாமல் இங்கு தமிழ் ஆண்டுகளைக் குறிக்கும் 60 படிகளே அமைக்கப் பட்டுள்ளன. தமிழ் வருடப் பிறப்பன்று 60 படிகளுக்கும் பூஜை நடக்கும். தமிழ்ப் புத்தாண்டில், சுவாமிமலையானை வழிபட்டு, "நான்" என்ற அகந்தை நீக்கப் பெறுவதுடன், நமது வாழ்க்கையில், எல்லாவற்றையும் முழுமையாக அறிந்து செய்யப் பழகுவோம்.
