Kanu Wishes !

பொங்கலுக்கு மறுநாள் கனுப்பண்டிகை.

முதல் நாள் பொங்கல் பானையில் கட்டிய மஞ்சள் கொத்திலிருந்து ஒரு மஞ்சளை எடுத்து வீட்டிலுள்ள பெரியவகர்ளிடம் தந்து
நெற்றியில் மஞ்சள் தீற்றச் சொல்லுவது மிகவும் இனிமையான ஒரு அனுபவம்.

அப்பொழுது பெரியவர்கள் நெற்றியில், மஞ்சளோடு குங்குமமும் இட்டு ஆசீர்வாதம் பண்ணிச் சொல்லும் வாழ்த்து நெஞ்சமெல்லாம் குளிர்விக்கும். உங்களோடு இந்த இனிய கருத்தைப் பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளுகிறேன்.

பூவோடும் பொட்டோடும், பொன்னோடும் பொருளோடும்

தாயோடும் தந்தையோடும், சீரோடும் சிறப்போடும்

பேரோடும் புகழோடும் பெருமையோடும் கீர்த்தியோடும்

சிறுவயதில் தாலி கட்டிப் பெரியவளாகிப் பிள்ளை பெற்றுக்

கொண்டவன் மனம் மகிழத் தையல் நாயகிபோலத்

தொங்கத் தொங்கத் தாலி கட்டித் தொட்டிலும் பிள்ளையுமாக

மாமனார் மாமியார் மெச்ச நாத்தியும் மதனியும் போற்ற

பிறந்தகத்தோர் பெருமை விளங்க பெற்ற பிள்ளைகள் ஆயுள் ஓங்க

உற்றார் உறவினரோடு புத்தாடை புதுமலர் சூடி

புது மாப்பிள்ளை மருமகளோடு புதுப்புது சந்தோஷம் பெருகி

ஆல் போல் தழைத்து அருகு போல் வேரோடி

என்றென்றும் வாழணும் எப்போதும்

சிரித்த முகத்தோடு இருக்கணும்.

இன்று பிறக்கும் தைத்திங்களில், உங்கள் இல்லங்களில் சீரும் சிறப்பும் பொங்கிப் பெருக பொங்கல் நல்வாழ்த்துக்கள் !

Dear ChitVish,

This post of yours transported me back to our land. "Manjal keeraradhu" used to be such a nice ritual, we used to go to our neighbours houses who had grandparents, get "Manjal keerified" and do namaskarams, eat Pongal in their homes till we were saturated with Pongal dishes.

Thanks for the virtual "Manjal Theetru".
