Dear Aishu,

Don't know why you felt that way. I was in no way commenting on your photos.

In fact it is nice of you to hve posted it on IL for the benefit of our members...

When I passed a remark on commercialisation, I meant where a simple Haldi-Kumkum platter with fruits was sufficient as a gift for the invitees, now shops have "sets" & it is now a status symbol to put in a silver/gold coin as "gifts"

Didn't mean to hurt you.

Love,

L

Dear Star shine,
I consulted with my grandma in law and she told me this year's Mangala Gowri Vratham starts on August 5 and 4 following tuesdays - 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th.

If you are conculding your pooja this year, please call your mom to your house on 26th the last pooja for this year. She must be asked to eat in you house with payasam etc.(according to your family tradtiion) and then you need to buy her a saree/blouse, bangles, kukkum, chandan, karumani, flowers, coconut, turmeric, beetel leaves, fruits, a small packet of rice etc. All these are acc. to my family tradition. This is just to guide you.

Hope it helps you.
