It is an interesting bit of note.
"Aryan " means " noble '. They are by no stretch of imagination " tribals " Pl get rid of the aryan Invasion theory as it has been discredited by all historians except Communists and that is for their own ulterior motives. If you are not a card crrying member, you can safely discard the notion.
Reg. 'Sagothram '. In our patriarchal system the gothra is derived from the father. Of course, they have always been marrying a girl from some other gothram other than theirs ! This does not mean that the gothram got diluted and is of no consequence now. More authentic information could be provided by genetic scientists ! !
All people are closely related in the same gothram. They are like brothers and sisters. Sagothra marriage is like marrying brother and sister ! Just because it is convenient we do not perform such marriages. THIS IS NOT SUPERSTITION .
Well, if a brother and sister gets married to each other, they will certainly produce children ! This consangineous marriage will result in DEFECTIVE CHILDREN and in course of some generations they will be begetting highly problematic children or simply idiots. That is the reason it is advisable to avoid sagothram marriages and not because some Vadhiyar has said so .
Whether they are Iyers , Iyengars or telugu, kannada or hindi the gothra is the same and intermarriage is best avoided between them. Just because each is claiming to be different does not mean they are different. The difference is only locational and has no consequence.

It is said that 'ayilyam' girl will bring the death of mother in law ! ! ! !. At birth itself one's life term is determined and nobody can reduce or increase a second in that time. So the girls 'ayilyam ' has NO EFFECT. YOU CAN ONLY SAY THEY ARE COINCIDENTAL. Assuming, the girls 'ayilyam' is powerful enough to cause the death of MIL, well this only means that the girl is MORE POWERFUL THAN GOD AND SHE SHOULD BE WORSHIPED AND NOT CONDEMNED ! ! But people are immersed in superstitions and they are not going to listen to reason or logic. !

i don't know too much, but once i read one article which was about people marrying within their relatives. There are many communities where girls get married to their m aternal uncles, maternal cousins. When they marry like this there are more chances of genetic problems, like hereditary diseases are passed to other generation very easily, sometimes a child born out of such marriage get easy chance of mental problems. I don't know how much it is true, but that was health magazine which explained all these is due to genes.

This article reminded me of the talk i had with my cousin's wife. She told me that her friend married her own cousin. They are having a son, who from the day 1 is facing lot of problems from head to toe. We also thought that the marriage with the cousin is the main culprit.
