| an article i enjoyed most, now sharing here... Air India Toilets A few days back, an article had me laughing. An Air India flight from Mumbai to New York, was delayed at takeoff, because 4 out of 6 toilets were blocked with garbage. It seems that with the flight rates coming down, more new comers are finding it chaper to travel more, and they cant differciate between a dustbin and a toilet. It took Air India staff 5 horus to clean the toilets, and what they found shocked them.Napkins,Spoons,Sanitary pads, plastic cups, knives spoons, the works.I feel sorry for the passengers, but i could not control myself smiling reading a juicy piece of news in an otherwise dull day in the newspapers. This set me thinking for the future turn of events. Mumbai Airport Toilets - A survey found that the mumbai Airport Toiltes are very dirty. And it was found that the policemen on duty at the airport, did not know how to use the toilets. They would stand and pee, wetting the toilet seat. And with drops of urine on the floor. So they were taught how to use the toilets.I dont know if they were physically shown the way, that would be very interesting to know.If our policement dont know, how can we expect the public to know. A-380 - The Super Jumbo - Air India has ordered These Super Jumbos which can seat 500 plus passengers, non stop flights to new york.As of now,all flights land in Europe first,be it Frankfurt,Rome,or Paris. Then they fly to USA.With the A- 380,one will fly non stop 15 hours to USA. A - 380 Toilets - Can u imagine if after flying a few hours, the toilets of Air India get clogged like the example given above. And you have 10 more hours to fly non stop. Then what will the passengers do? they cant tell the pilot to open the door so the men can unzip and just let off, think of the big job ? Will they have an emergency landing in Kandahar, or Turkey,so the passengers can go to the airport Loo?These are some serious points the Airlines have to consider while they order these long distance planes. Seating Arangments - I read a few months back, these planes have flexible seating arrangments, made ot order. So we can have seats from 500 plus to 800.in the 800 arrangment, they can have standing passengers tied to the walls with a strap. But who the hell can stand for 15 hours.Knowing Indians as i do, they will squat on the ground. If me and my friends aer going standing, we will put a bedsheet on the ground, and start playing cards, like we see the roadside ruffians, here we will be the polished ruffians. And with free food and drinks on the house,it will surely be fun,and i can write a blog on that also, how to travel cheap, sit on theplane floor and have a ball. Cheaper tickets can also be considered.Tie guys to the wings, making sure the guy onthe left wing,is of equal weight to the guy on the right wing, otherwise we dont want the plane to tilt,do we? And then u guys can give so many suggestions,we must improve the bottom line of Air India, our national carrier. Our Sulekha books, will be a big hit on such flights, with so much time to kill by the passengers.Anyone listening from Sulekha management ? And once the plane is on Auto pilot, and the passengers have passed of to sleep, the Airhostesses , can go to the cockpit and gossip with the pilots,or try to learn the art of flying the plane, its so easy actually. They can open a flyying class upstairs, just like those motor training schools who teach us how to drive cars.Have two brakes and clutches, simple. And the pilots must be taught, not to pick up a few passengers mid way to make some extra money, like the lorry drivers, and make sure the passengers dont open their windows and peek out,or throw something out of the window.Airbus has a lot of instructions to give us folks. regards sunkan... |
