Gosh! This is nasty! Please don't tell me this is true !! I love eating kaju katli/burfis with silver foil on them...don't tell me I can't eat any more since I am a veg. I love eating paan once in a while when I got to indian restaurants. I actually enjoy it.

I don't know whether to tell thank you for this post. You have brought out the truth but the one which would have been better hidden.

Anyway, thank you neha for the info.

Dear Neha
I have never eaten any sweets when they used Varak to decorate it. I knew how Varak is made. I never eat cheese if it contains rennet. Cheese is not fit for vegetarians. Vegetarians can have Kosher cheese. I don't eat Red curry or Green curry in Thai Restaurants. The
curry paste they use contains shrimp paste. In most of the Chinese and Thai restaurants they use mutton or chicken stalk even in vegetarian food. In countries like Australia and USA they use egg even in bread and biscuits. Whenever I do shopping I spend so much time reading about the ingredients and it annoys my husband.
He says 'Do you think plants don't have life? Anything which grows has life!'. I think he has a point there. But I continue to eat what I think is vegetarian......

Monifa, can you explain why you think cheese is not for vegetarians?
And, what is rennet?

Thanks!
Adara
