Being one of the very few men in the site I can't help adding a few more:

You need men to MENd things and definitely you need a man to MANouvere through life and without men there would not be HIStory. And definitely you need some acuMEN to run the world, right?
And more often than not you need a talisMAN.
And think of noble women like Mother Theresa. What they are doing is nothing but a yeoMAN service to the people.

Sridhar, your response is very interesting and inspiring..though I agree with you fully...the feminist in me has to say this....

Men are

"Men'decious (untruthful)

they can be

"Man'iacs'

they always believe that 'men'ial work is 'man'datory for women, though it is for them to do..after all it is 'men'ial....

they can be sometimes as infectious and dangerous as ' men'engitis ,( brain inflammation)

but I want to add that

man if he wants, can become 'Man'na ( beneficial nurturing food ) to a woman

Sudha that was a very amusing and interesting piece - and the responses had me chuckling! Just realised that there are so many words beginning and ending with man or men! Man is part of woMAN; but since she is a woe to man she is often manhandled!
