ஒரு வாரம் ஓய்வுக்குப் பின் "ஓ" பழமொழிகளை சற்றே பார்ப்போமா ?

சித்திரம்போலக் குடிவாழ்க்கை செய்யலாம்
All it neds for a beautiful life is a compatible husband and enough food.

A person who came from outside, chased away the local person.

6 -
ஒருத்தம் ஜோலிக்குப் போகவும் மாட்டேன்;
என் காலை மிதித்தால் விடவும் மாட்டேன்..
I will not interfere in others' matters;
but if you try to act smart with me, I will not leave you scot-free.

7 -
ஒருதாய் அற்ற பிள்ளைக்கு ஊரெல்லாம் தாய்
For a motherless child, many act as mothers.

Default Wonderful Collection, as always !

Dear Chitra,

You're back after a short break with Proverbs...Nice to see them again !

As usual, wonderful collections of proverb, some of them I have already heard, some totally new to me...

Just sharing my views about the proverbs posted.

Proverb 1 : Very impressive and how true..If our hubby is a perfect man in all ways, what more can a girl ask for ?

Proverb 2 : First time am hearing this, immensely enjoyed...It's true, in some families, it so happens, all the D-I-L join hands and not include the daughter of the family for their discussions, maybe coz they consider her as a threat or spy when it comes to discuss the topic of their interest - Their Mother-in-Law.

Proverb 5 : I have heard them so many times before.

Proverb 8 : My mom used to quote the english version of this proverb often .

Proverb 12 : I have heard this as "Thani maram Thopaagaathu" .

Proverb 13 : Interesting to read.

Proverb 18 : Is it similar to "Siruthuli Peruvellam" ?

Proverb 19 : I will slightly modify this proverb and say - "Onrum puriyaathavanuku, ethilum santhegam illai" - I have experienced this many times during college days, when I hardly understood what is been taught in the class

Overall, I enjoyed this collection very well Chitra.

Love,
Preethi

Default Yes Preethi, it is nice to be back !

You are so much interested, that you have made a detailed analysis, almost !
The second one is the most favourite of my MIL, believe me ! If we "orpadis" (co-sisters) gather together, she will immediately say this to us, not that we ever intentionally did it, leaving aside the "nathanar" (sister-in-law).
When I wrote it, I remembered her so much - she is likely to have trned in her grave !
Thankyou, Preethi !
Love,
Chithra.

ஒன்றும் இல்லாவிட்டால் அத்தைமகள் இருக்கிறாள் !

Dear Chitra,

This week's 'O' proverbs set is as usual nice to read and almost all the proverbs are practical. regarding the 17th, I too agree with Kamla that is really true. 19th proverb made me to remember my science teacher.....she uses that proverb in each and every class. enjoyed this week's post.

regards,
kodi.
