Would You Marry Again?

A husband and wife were lying in bed together one night. The wife rolled over and placed her hand lovingly on the chest of her husband.

"Honey," the wife said, "if I died would you get married again?"

The husband said, "Never, my dear."

The wife said, "I''m sure you would."

So the husband said, "Okay, I would"

"would you bring her in this house" ? the wife asked.

"yeah i will feel lonley with out you here " husband said .

"Would you let her sleep in our bed?" the wife asked.

And the husband replied, "I suppose so."

Then the wife asked, "Would you let her wear my clothes?"

"I doubt she''d want to," the husband said. "She is very much slim and trim" .

A good joke and food for thought, but as Priya said it sometimes is reality.

It reminds me of a close friend. She had asked her husband of one year, whom she loved dearly (theirs was love marriage), such a question.

His frank answer, "Yes I will remarry" hurt her. She shouldn't have asked him if she wasn't prepared to hear the truth. But she was so in love and she was expecting him to say, "Darling, I love you so very much and I would never ever marry another".

This friend of mine cried for days after hearing his answer. Husband apologised and placated her by saying that he had just joked. Things returned to normal. She forgot about it and trusted him completely (foolish perhaps).

But it didn't end there. In their 15th year of marriage, she discovered that he was having an affair with a younger woman. Of course she was shattered. That's when she realised: she doesn't even have to be dead for him to find a replacement; even when she is alive and kicking he will find another.

Their marriage nearly ended. She has given him a second chance, after much pleading from his side. Foolish perhaps, but that's what happened. I think she should have left him.

Married guys having affairs is common. They will give various excuses and blame everyone else (especially their wives) except themselves. Society closes an eye on such matters. Women must learn not to be dependant on spouses for total happiness. That's life.
