Chinese Products Keep Off!!!!!!!

We always knew Chinese goods were cheap and in addition to the low wage rates, it was a fact that the Chinese were cutting corners to make a profit where there was none. But you wouldn't have thought they would go to this extent: Used condoms are being recycled into hair bands in southern China! It is dirt cheap, but. A bag of ten sells for just three cents, much cheaper than the regular ones. But, despite being recycled, the hair bands could still contain bacteria and viruses. A local dermatologist is quoted as saying: "People could be infected with AIDS, (genital) warts or other diseases if they hold the rubber bands or strings in their mouths while waving their hair into plaits or buns". Courting controversies seems to come naturally to the Chinese. It was date rape chemicals on the Chinese toys sometime back, and it is now used condoms being made into hair bands. But their moment of discomfiture is a godsend opportunity for our own manufacturers. It is a window that we must prise open into a big highway, to get more and more FDI in the manufacturing sector. If only we quickly get those infrastructure projects started on, to inspire confidence in the foreign direct investors!

I totally agree to your statement. I also heard that their other cheap products like toys, crayons, clay, glue, markers, soft toys, plastic items etc.. can cause very harmful effects on children using them... especially if inhaled or eaten.

Its worth spending extra money on buying quality products for kids. What say you?

it is true, Sunkan, everyday the list goes up and we are afraid to buy anything from China.
My cousin is having a year-old son and she refused to get any toys from China for his son stating this as the reason. She had done a good job!
Moreover, a person went to a store to buy things made in USA, but could find only a few after thorough searching of the store.
Chinese goods are flooded world-wide. we had to be careful, nowadays!

dear srini,
by now you should be aware that not many things are manufactured in US every thing is imported, and branded there, that is y the jeans and all those products are a lot more cheaper here, the money that we may have to pay for just tagging, the inner garments are also assembled in china and then sent to US, so you may have to choose with what u get there, but with awareness..sunkan
