| As per our Apara Kriya rituals, whem a person expires, for the first 10 days,we do VASODAKA, THILODAKA tharpanam at NADI/THADAKA Kundam as well as GRIHADWARA kundam.Blood relatives (DAYADEES) they do the same on tenth day at NADI/THADAKA Kundam only. There is significance for this. After the the laja homam, the sons are expected to plant a tree un the pit/Nadi/thadaka kundam.this is called ASWTHA PRATISHTA That is why we see many trees in villages nearer to tanks/rivers In mordern days it is not possible to follow this practice. The saying is one tree has fallen and new plant has taken birth. Our forefathers were fond of nature. That is why many of our rituals ,if analyse we will infer their commitment to mother earth. I request all who love nature, to plant a tree whenever they get an oppertunity, in memmory of their forefathers k.r.subramanian BROUGHT TO U BY SUNKAN
