Hi all,
Heel pain can occur for a variety of reasons!!!
Generally in women the extra calcium growth and the resulting calceneal spur is rare!
I had severe heel pain (right heel) and remedy are the following:
1. Goto a good orthopedacian.
2. Get an XRAY done.
3. Follow his advice for medicine.
4. Wear MCR(micro cellular rubber) chappals or shoes or sandals at home or else where too.
5. Immerse your feet in bearable hot water for 5 minutes, and then in cold water/ice pack for 5 minutes atleast twice a day.
6. If doctor suggests then go for a speel of physio-therapy consisting of ultra-sound and some stretching excercise.
7. What was suggested to me and what seemed to work is the following excercise:

Stand straight and face a wall. Hold the wall for support. Balance yourself on your heels only and lean forward. This will stretch the muscles of your calf region. you will feel the pull. count upto 5 and slowly increase upt0 30 and do so 5 times a day.
8. The above mentioned works if Doctor has diagnosed you as having Plantar Fascitis - that is the tendon/muscle of the heel gets inflamed and starts hurting.
9. Check whether you are diabetic and also your blood uric acid levels
10. you should start feeling better after a week and in case of severe pain, the whole process may take about 4 to 6 weeks to feel really good.
11. Do not dance especially dandia or garba which may aggravate the situation.
Regards and take care
