Hello dear IL'ites!

"With so many excellent posts being nominated for this month's FP, who has edged out as the winner??"...One may wonder...

Though it was very difficult to discern the best post, especially when so many stalwarts were nominated, it was also deceptively easy.
Because, we went for that post which warmed our hearts and left us smiling and dreaming. That in itself is an achievement worth gloating about!

And the Winner is...Sowmya Sridhar for starting the thread: funny incidents before marriage.

All those who go through the thread will vouch for the fact that they ended up with a soft and sweet feeling in their hearts and a smile on their lips!

The thread may not be embellished with the best of the Queen's language, it may not be a brilliant work of fantasy. Yet, a guileless question sends most of us into the sweetest phase of our lives, the romantic interlude that almost all of us have enjoyed and tend to forget in the hustle and bustle of life. It may be brief and fleeting. But, it surely was there and will always be there in our hearts and cherished in our thoughts.

In today's life and times when so many of us are troubled with so many problems and grievances, this thread surely gives us a respite from our troubles taking us instantly to a rosy hued moments of our lives.

For that, we should say a thank you to Sowmya and that is what we are doing by crowning her as the Winner of the month's Finest Post!

Dear friends,

This time's nominations were very selective indeed. Besides, the nominations also represented a broader palette of our IL forums which is what we were striving to achieve since the inception of Finest Post Forum! Though the nominations were small in number, they came from five different sub-forums, which is a vast improvement on previous months. I hope this trend catches on and more and more posts from various forums will find its place in FP nomination. This will encourage members to venture into forums they were not interested before and they may discover and like the new venues.

Strangely, though the posts are from varied forums, the protagonist of most of them was 'The Woman' ! Woman as a young girl, lover, bride, mother, protesting against rape, dowry and even the extravaganza of weddings and also egoistic enough to look and present herself well! Was it the influence of Ma Durga, it being the month of Navarathri?! Couldn't help musing about it...

Every nomination was a gem. All the nominations were thought provoking and motivating. It is noteworthy as to how some of them bring forth a message even though the words are shrouded in humor. The message is conveyed in a light hearted banter. A joy to read.

Thanks to all the participants of this forum, nominees and nominators, for making it so worthwhile.
