Your reply reminded me of a TV ad. A little lad pops up a Gulab Jamoon into his mouth. The father arrives at the scene and wants to know the reason for the celebration and the proud mother announces that their son came second in a running race. The happy dad asks the son how many runners were there in the field and the son replies 'Two' and runs away from the scene before his dad can reach him.

It is now my turn to tell you 'Idhu konjam overa teriyale'! Modesty is an extremely endearing quality but the way you have analysed the reason for becoming the winner this month is streching modesty a bit too much! In my opinion, your thread would have got the Award even if there were 1000 entries in August.

So shall we call it quits in the matter of 'Idhu konjam overa teriyale'?

Just as I was typing this I saw Cheeniya Sir's reply and it seemed like he spoke my mind (of course, in a much richer way!).

Your post deserved the win every single bit. I admit that this is not the first time we (Kamla and I) have felt this way about your posts. There were many times in the past when you were almost the winner. I remember us debating until the last minute as to who should take the top spot between you and the announced winner. It just so happened that we got the pleasure of announcing you the winner this time rather than the many times in the past when you narrowly missed the win.

Your post won for its quality Jaya, absolutely and undoubtedly! It is always the quality that wins in the end no matter how much the quantity (in this case the number of nominations).

Although I am amazed by your modesty in accepting the win, I certainly do not agree with the reasoning! .

But, I loved your post on golf absolutely & was very sorry that you missed winning for that post.
But you were non-chalant & lived up to my motto:
