Whoa, whoa! Two consecutive nominations for the same wonderful post! Well, I am not surprised at all.

Having read LN Sir's educative post "”A happy family is but an earlier heaven.”-George Bernard shaw" I totally agree with all the appreciation this post is receiving.There is a wealth of knowledge to learn from LN Sir and I am so happy that he is sharing it with us to make our lives richer.

Right discussion started at the right time. This is so true.During school days I remember reading this poem that says " Where women are not respected, or where the tear drop of women falls " lakshmi wont stay!! etc...but day in day out how many women that too in this 21st century are still going through DV and dowry harrassment??is there any end to all this?somewhere?

Thank you for bringing the thread How ironical!? started by Ansh to FP forum. A befitting tribute for this discussion thread.

Ansh and in turn, we as in women, may never find a comforting solution to this problem that seems to plague our land. But then, we should never give up hope as life survives on hope. Hence, such discussions are always welcome. Awareness and looking at the problem in the eye is surely the need of the day.

Thank you for nominating Jeffreena's discussion thread Rape and rapist.

Rape is a heinous crime. In my opinion, it is equal to murder. I am glad that our ladies are open to a frank and just discussion on this matter. In such matters, awareness ends ignorance and that is always a stepping stone to improvement of society.

I am back with some different thread for nomination. Here it is...
My fetus was detected with Down's Syndrome, so should I abort it?

It is at times like this that I thank God for letting me be so involved in the FP forum. If not for your nomination, I would certainly have missed this thread, My fetus was detected with Down's Syndrome, so should I abort it? and the wonderful replies that followed Orpi's initial post.
My heart goes out to our Orpi. After reading the nominated replies and so many other replies in that thread, I feel really proud that I belong to such a loving and intelligent community.

Kamla, thanks for the kind words. Moderating this FP thread can't be easy, and we appreciate the fine job you are doing.

Vasumathy, thanks for the nomination. I had not thought of it like you did - that the thread deserved heightened attention. But now that you have mentioned it, and explained why, I agree. The poster, Orpi, had a genuinely heart-breaking dilemma, one that any of us may face at some time as women and mothers. All the replies were caring and supportive, and helped Orpi come to a resolution. This thread is a fine example of IL's potential to have concrete positive effects on a person's life. I am privileged to have been a part of that. My best wishes go to Orpi for her health and happiness, and my thanks and admiration go to all the other respondents (especially those women who shared their personal experiences with special needs children).
