Those who are already in the grips of hot summer are on a look out for respite and cool breeze and here in IL, Mother's day activities in the form of blog contest is gearing up in action.

She has chosen to write about the adverse effects that children suffer through sexual abuse. It is a pertinent topic to write about and she has handled this difficult task with so much finesse that the reader is able to grasp the thoughts conveyed and feel the sorrow and suffering of a child called Baalika. An incredible must read.

It portrays the painful truth of child prostitution.It is surely a social awareness post.

It's a must read for every one. If only I had the powers I would make it a prescribed text in all the schools especially the ones for boys from classes 6 to Plus Two.

Here is the fifth nomination...!! Yes, even I recommend Devika's Little Baalika and the Urn ! as a must read for everyone.

I read it a few days back and I will add that it made me sick in the stomach. Not that I am not aware of such things happening in our world, only each time I come across such stories, it makes me angry, sick and helpless.

I like the suggestion from you Sridhar. It must be made into a text for school children. How terrible! We will be subjecting many innocent minds to this atrocity because of few sick minds.
