Dear friends,

It seems like these days everyone is talking of slowdown, economic meltdown, lack of attractive opportunities etc. etc. There is some sort of fear and insecurity that has gripped everyone given the current state of the economy.

While I see this side of the world, I am glad to be a part of another world that is completely unaffected by any of this. And I am glad that it is so. A world where meltdown means melting down of hearts by reading lovely writings, where slowdown means people are experiencing a slowdown in their FB writing because there is sooooo much wonderful writing to read, a world where one feels secure and is free of all fears! That world, as you guessed it right, is none other than our cosy home - IL!

And you members who contribute and participate here must pat yourselves on the back for making it the positive and bubbling world that it is.

So let us then vow to keep our world as beautiful as we like it to be, as secure as we want it to be and as bubbling as it can be.

As part of this endeavor, start flooding the FP with your favorite reads. Let us all enjoy and share the pleasure of reading a great piece of writing. I have pleasure in nominating 'Dangerous Predicament' by Lakshminarayanan for this month
Dangerous predicament

That single incident of Lakshminarayanan's life is enough to open a thousand eyes of ILites! When we face life's great predicaments, we allow external considerations to rule over our personal sentiments and choose invariably the easy way out that will not hurt our near and dear ones. But here is an episode, a stark one at that, that happened in a man's life when he was just entering the bigger world probably with a lot of dreams and fancies. He just set aside all those dreams and fancies and took the path of virtue. If this incident, narrated so lucidly by LN, does not convey to us the need to be on the side of virtue, nothing will!

I am not sure whether this can be done. I am not sure whether I am carrying coal to new castle or delivery malligai flower to a Maduraiite.

But it's something I can't help doing.

I was attracted by the thread whoo would tie the bell for the only reason somebody had put two "o"s for who. I thought the subject matter should be something strange and went to read it.

And soon I read Soaring Spirit's fb to the question raised by the seeker. Soaring Spirit has given a sane counsel to the seeker. In very simple words she has very objectively advised a troubled wife as to the method of handling her husband's problematic behavour.

I know you guys very well. When I nominate your own posts, you won't consider it for fp. But more than winning this month's prize, I am anxious that all married women (and men too) should read this post. And that anxiety has prompted me to rush to the FP nomination thread.

But for the fact the fb is given by one of the moderators of the FP forum the post has all the qualities of the finest post.

It's with great happiness I nominate Soaring Spirit's fb to the Seeker on handling her argumentative, problematic husband, for the finest post of April, 2009.

I would like to nominate the thread Quiz for the finest post of April..
1. Not because it is hosted by me.
2. It has the finest people with brains responding to it.
Any other valid reason could be there, but one itself is enough!

Is this a lucky day or what?! I log in to note that not one, but two of our eminent writers and stalwarts of IL have visited and have nominated posts!! If both Cheeniya sir and Varalotti sir have hastened here to nominate posts, I can only feel elated at the number of growing excellency in IL writers.
