| Hello Ilites n Dear moderators... I have stepped in to nominate the post for May month. Its Mithila Kanans ''Dear Mothers,Please lend me your ears!'' A very good advice to both parents and friends and closed ones... love Moonbeams.. |

| Dear Kamla and Vidya, Before starting to nominate for May, let me first congratulate you both for the excellent work you are doing. If there is a forum in IL which can be called the Finest, it should be this, as all the finest things in IL come here sometime or the other. Like a child which shows the gifts it receives on its birthday to its friends, parents and all, I am showing a gift I received from my friend, Devika Menon, a poem, which I have posted in my birthday wishing thread. Here's the link for the poem Happy Birthday, Varalotti - you are a "legend" in IL! It is post #31 in that thread. The poem was sent to me by pm and I posted in this thread. love,

| Hi Finest MODs, Here i come with my nomination. In this month of May, when we celebrate all of Motherhood, Mithila Kanan has once again proved with her very moving story , that all mothers love their kids in any circumstance, no matter if they have been treated worse than the worst. Her story just moved me to tears. When we come into this world with nothing, and go with nothing, in between, Money plays havoc with so much of our lives and causes untold misery for that human embodiment of love "mother" . So here i nominate AMMA CAME HOME for the finest post for this month. Vandhana |

| hi ladies, my nomination goes to anand chitras post about how grand parents are put to trouble about taking care of their grandchildren, it has brought back the option of love taking over the duty and age catching up with helplessness. Retired or Not retired? regards sunkan

| Dear Kamla and Vidya, Two nominations from me on the same day! May be ageing (you know I crossed 50 a few days back) has done something to me, as it does to wine, books and friends. I am pleased to second Vandhana's nomination of Mithila Kannans Post Amma came Home A very lively, live-wire piece I read in the past several months. Way to go, Mythili. regards, sridhar

| Dear Moderators of FP Forum, I have a pleasant assignment to do this morning. People have already started talking that I spend more time here in this forum than in Varalottis Stories, forum. That is true at least during the last two days. Now I am pleased to nominate Vidya's Post talking about the FP nominations in April 2008. Well, she could have said, "We received 168 nominations of which 23 were invalid. And out of 145 valid nominations, we selected..." Thats what a Tehsildar or an accountant like me would have done. Instead she described the judgment process, made the applicable ground rules so clear, that any one who lost the contest in April would have actually loved his or her defeat. Category-wise her post is merely an administrative announcement. Quality wise it is one of the finest examples of prose writing, turned into an art form. I am pleased to nominate Vidya's Post (#6 in the April Winner Thread - link given below) to be considered the finest post for May 2008. Finest Posts - April 2008 Winner! love,

| Dear Sridhar, It is really nice to see you here so early giving a nice start off to the May nomination thread. And , thanks so much for your so very generous words for Vidya and myself and for this forum. I have people like you to look up to and emulate, hence it comes easy :) I did read Devika's lovely poem and is rightly so that you bring it to the FP forum. Thank you for it and thanks for everything. L, Kamla |
