| Dear ILites, Good day to all of you and let us all hope it will be a very good February for us. February 'kick' starts off with , oh need I mention, the Superbowl! I am sure all the guys are looking forward to the best seat in the sitting room and some pop corn...or should it be pakodas and chai?:) As we have just read Saoringspirit's take on asserting independence, I advice you ladies to aim for the better sofa and a hot chocolate and if not the Superbowl, do enjoy the hilarious commercials! And......after all that hungama........please log back onto IL and start nominating your favorite posts for the month of February:) This is also a month of celebrations. Basant Panchami is round the corner bringing spring and hopefully, spring inspired sweet contributions too. We should keep a look out for them..... And how can we forget Feb 14th ?! If my guess is right, it is going to set many hearts aflutter on Valentines Day. I am surely expecting some love and romance inspired articles and essays! So friends, do get busy and bring in your nominations. Let me remind you all once again, we do not need to restrict ourselves only to this February. Any article or contribution that has impressed you on IL, regardless of the month and year, please go ahead and nominate them. Looking forward to hearing from all of you...... | Hi Ladies, Sorry for the delay in the nominations. But then will try and make up for it. I would like to nominate Devika Menons : Please dont take them for granted!! Very well written piece, after reading it, i was thinking back, How many times have I actually appreciated aloud, all that my folks have done for me? I totally agree with her, we need to show our appreciation , nothing fancy, just a few simple words ..... will definitely make their day, and ours too... V |

| Hi, I would like to nominate Vijubala's thread 'Arranged marriage turned into love'. An arranged marriage turned into love It really made many of us to go back to our sweet memories. Her story was like a catalyst to many of us to get back to our memories and gave us a break from busy schedule. The way she has narrated the whole incidence was just more than watching a real movie. Thanks, Punitha |

| Dear Puni, A winner with a winner nomination! Thanks, girl! I read Vijubala's humouorus and romantic description. It is really heart tickling, a good build up to Feb14th. And as you said, it kindled fond memories in all of us. Brought a smile to my parched mind and lips. A great post. Thanks Vijubala and Puni. affly Vidya |

| Dear Friends, Please go to I wish DIL was more interactive with me.. IL has become one global platform! MSLakshmi will no more have a grievance realising that she has elicited such positive responses from ILfriends, who are genuinely concerned about her feelings. MSLakshmi, to make up for one non-interactive DIL, you have any number of young friends, who want to soothe you with nice words. You cannot ask for more! Love, Chithra. |

| Hello dear Ilites...Iwould like to nominate Kamalji...For the post'' IRIONIES OF LIFE''...a really real and heart touching thread.. And Devika Menon for the post " PLEASE DON'T TAKE THEM FOR GRANTED" this post too touches the harsh truth of how v as kids have taken our parents for granted. And v have come to reallize it now, when v are in our parents shoes... And Mslakshmi for the post ''I WISH MY DIL WAS MORE INTERACTIVE WITH ME" Its not just the daughters in law, but same can b said to daughters n sons...as old ones have nothing much to do as sometimes their health does not permit, n here the young ones r full of life..they just feel the world is theirs n they have every right to enjoy it... Hope HERE v can nominate more than one name.... Links: Ironies of Life Please dont take them for granted!! I wish DIL was more interactive with me.. | Mrs ChitVish, Thank you for nominating a touching post by MSlakshmi. I went thru the post and what warmed my heart was the longing that she has; to actually interact and be loved by her daughter in law. The post expresses no rancour, just wistfulness. A therepeutic post not just by its content but also by the tone it is etched in. Over the past months, we note that you repeatedly nominate worthy posts and threads pertaining to discussions on family, relationships etc. It is a very useful and mature choice since such posts teach us more to cope with troubled realtionships. Please do nominate more. regards |

| Dear Moonbeams, What a charming, cooling moniker! And three nominations to spread! Thanks a million! Of course you can nominate more than one post! More the merrier! Kamalji is one of the court writers of IL. "Ironies of Life' teaches us how the incongruities of life never cease. Also, it shows how adversity can actually lead to success as in the case of Percept. DevikaMenon is another writer/blogger making her presence felt in IL. She narrates on how our parents shape us. And how we accepted their shaping roles in our lives as a given. Her touching words on her father's last moments, her desire to tell him that she loved him- we can all identify with that. MSLakshmi has captured our hearts with her wish-post. How rarely does one see a MiL actually yearning for a loving relationship with her DiL? Mslakshmi leads by example showing us that this rare breed does exist. Thanks Moonbeams for three wonderful nominations. regards Vidya Last edited by Vidya24 : 9th February 2008 at 02:30 PM. Reason: corrected post description. Got mixed up earlier. |
