haii il i need a big info regarding seemantham in iyers caste and when do they perform it? which month ? or during/between so an so month? im in my 5th month...1st pregnancy and big doubt is how do they calculate the months according to tamil calender??? im so confused....coz i am nonbrahmin married to brahmin. The thing is my mom's place is 14hrs from here...so i don't want any unnecessary travel during my 8th and 9th month...so i thought 7th month wud be comfortable for me...and my due date is May18 Now i heard frm a relative that seemantham wud be in 8th month ....waitingsmiley Am so against this...wat shud i do...how do i solve this? is there a solution at all? please help meee urs
Hey congrats... even i am in my 4th month and due in May... well in iyers i think seemantham is done in 6th or 8th month and valagapu on 5th and 7th month... else they can be combined and done in 6th or 8th month.. mine is gonna be held in 6th month in Feb
Hi Congrats, actually it is 8th month of pregnancy. It is calculated as per tamil month. For eg, if your last periods is on dec 14th, on the month will be taken as karthigai. So, irrespective of the days, your pregnancy is 1 month old in Margazhi. Most probably your 7th month as per medical professionals will be your 8th month.
both valaigappu and semantham can be performed during 8th month after which the dil is sent to her parent's home for delivery.
