Hi Ladies, What gift are you going to give out for this Navarathiri? I do not want to go for plastic items. This year I wanted to give out some eco-friendly product. Any suggestions? Rama
The most common gifts in my area are plastic dabbas, plastic containers. to break away this navarathri i have been giving the traditional blouse bit, along with a steel box that can be used to store curd, milk, sabji. my way of telling them to move away from plastic and switch to steel or glass. for the kids it was handmade crochet drawstring bags with color pencils, stickers, ear rings, rubber bands for hair. for bigger kids it is pendent sets and very close friends of my daughter get my trademark crocheted earrings which has been a craze among her classmates in college.
nandu, good to have you here. if your kiddo was close she would have got a goody bag. it so nice to watch all the girls carrying the bag around. i gave it on the first day, so that they can have a nice time the whole 9 days. this morning i see them in the park with the bag hanging on their elbows.. the earrings..http://www.indusladies.com/forums/knitting-and-crochet/177247-few-more-crocheted-earrings-using.html http://www.indusladies.com/forums/knitting-and-crochet/192140-another-set-of-earrings-contd.html similar to the same ones..
