Happy Vishu to all my ILs here, I pray to almighty to shower his love and affection on Each one of us in this Comming New year.

Dear Devika,

I have so many memories of celebrating Vishu back there in India, Spl what comes to my immediate mind is Seeing Lord Guruvayurappa's idol in the Mirror which would be decorated with all this Fragrant MALLI Flowers and the Brightness of the lighted lamp,Smell of jackfruit in the wee hours of Early morning. It was a real treat to ones eyes...Indeed.

We would be eagerly waiting for the "KANNI Neetam"(small token of cash) from our Elders. Though a small amount , but used to make us feel so happy. And Going to the Temple wearing the Tradtional "Set Sarees" with that Chandnam on the Forehead. And ofcourse not to Mention the "SADYA" with all those diffn kinds of Payasam, Puliseri,Papdam,Chakka Thoran,and the Must Avial and inji Puli to name a few...... OH Gosh.... i m Badly missing those wonderful moments Back there in India . I am Afraid if i could get any of these things in US right now... Would have to See kanni this time only with some Selected fruits i guess.

Yes the Kanni adorned with fruits and flowers specially the Kannipuu is so divine to watch . And of course the Sadhya. I am so sorry about you missing it:((
Anyway you can make up for it wenever you come down.

But my fav apart from Thechi Mandharam is Ambadi thaniyil oru unni Anjene kannanam unni . Unni ke netiyil gopi tu unnike mudiyil peeli pu. Am sure you mustve heard this .Its a beautiful song.
