 Happy Tamil New Year " VIYA" to all I L ites ! Dear Friends, May this Vishu which marks the commencement of the new Tamil Year VIYA bring to all the ILites and their near and dear, all peace and prosperity. May this new year VIYA consist of 1 year of fulfilment, 12 months of happiness, 52 weeks of perfect health, 365 days of glory,8760 hours of prosperity, 525600 minutes of affection and 31536000 seconds of pure love. May this wonderful site IL reach greater heights in this year and continue to grow. May the IL community continue to dwell in pure love and affection. The Tamil New year also marks the onset of Vasantha Ridhu (Basant Ridhu in Bengali), the beginning of the spring. And it is during this month of Chithirai, the first month of the Tamil New Year,the Queen of Madurai, the presiding deity of this temple city, Madurai Meenakshi gets Married to Sri Sundareswarar. Her festival, the festival of festivals, is celebrated during this month. Her name Meenakshi has a wonderful meaning. The mother fish sees that her children want food. Just a loving glance from the mother fish fills the stomaches and the hearts of her children. Similarly our Goddess just by glancing at us can see to it that all our needs are fulfilled.
