Default Fasting rules during Navratri

Hi Ladies,

Every year me and my hubby fast during Navratri for 9 days. He is a great devotee of Vaishnav devi. We break our fast in the evening after our prayers and we eat only one time after the prayers. We drink juice/coffee/tea during the day.

Can someone suggest me food recipes that doesn include Rice, Wheat, Onion, Garlic. And also if you fast tell me what to do you eat in these fasting days.

I mostly make different kind of sundals - channa, rajma, black eyed beans......and kheer, kesari, fruits,....etc for navedhyam.

I hope Navratri is starting on 12th but for south indians it has alreaady started from today. Please correct me if iam wrong.

Default Re: Fasting rules during Navratri

Hi Bala,

The Navarathri festival for South Indians is also going to start from 12th too.

The other items that u can prepare for fasting r upma, poha, sabudana kicchidi and corn(maize). If u get it there u can prepare it.
U can also prepare dosa from raagi and the items that u prepare for nivedhyam can also be eaten.
