Smile Does Raksha bandan hold any meaning in today's scenario?

Hi All,
Happy Rakhi to all of you
I do not have any brother so this day for me does not have any significance and it's just like any other day !
I would like to know how much value does this festival hold in today's world when everyone is so much busy with their own work and life? Is this just another festival in which we make sweets and eat or does it really have any special meaning left ?
Do all sisters really think that whenever they need their brothers, they will come to help them in whichever way it's possible? Do sisters tie the rakhi just to get some gifts for brothers? Do we celebrate it just because it is a good- old tradition?
