Comments on Dr. Thangam Varma

Hi,
I had got myself tested and also got a D&C done with her some years back, to try for a second child. All is well till one goes with them without asking any questions. The charges are exhorbitant, should not even think about it if you plan to get treated. If at all you stop in the midele, then the treatment of the staff and doctors become sour. I experienced it that way only. About the results, I don't know. I have not heard any news about them so far.

I am in USA. My doctor recommended to go for IVF. I am 36 years old. My FSH level is 9. My dr diagnosised that I have Adenomyosis. Since it is very costly in USA. I am planning to go to Chennai ,India to do IVF. My question is, In this case, having Adenomyosis, what could be the procedure to get pregnant and Could you please recommend any IVF Dr other than GG (espically Priya , Kamala's daughter is very rude).

Dear KirthikaS,

I myself taking my treatment with Dr.Geetha Haripriya.Dr.Thangam varma is also equally efficient.

When I was looking out for good dcotors my priority was like this.

1. Dr.Geetha Haripriya

2. Dr.Thangam varma

3.GG (Dr.Kamala/Priya)

I also heard that Dr.Priya of GG is rude and does not explain everything to her patients and the main drawback is Dr.Kamala does not visit there regularly.

Please let me know if you require further details.

Thanks for your quick response. How is your experience with Hari Priya. I heard that she is treatment with same procedure for all patient. She is not giving the correct treatment to individual patient. Last year,When I was in Chennai, my mom took me to Prashant hospital, I waited from 9 Am till 1 PM. She didn't show up, receptionist said that she is in the operation theater, I really got frustrated and left there without she
her. BTW, I went without appointment.

How do u feel abt the CMC Vellore hospital and Women's Center,in Coimbatore?

Even I am narrowed down to

1) Apollo Hospital (Dr. Sarat)
2)MMM (Dr Thangam Verma)
3)CMC Vellore
4)Womens Center,Coimbatore (Dr. Mirudhubashini Govindarajan)

The disadvantage of going to outside chennai, I need to find the place to stay for 2 or 3 months, not alone, my mom will be there with me. the disadvantage of
staying in chennai is, handling relative will be bit difficult.

She is very busy.So we need to wait for hours to see her..I waited for more than 8 hrs.But Iam quite satisfied with her.She has a good cuccess rate in town..

If you are not satisfied with her,then you can very well choose Dr.Thangam Varma.She is equally good.

I dont have much info about Dr.Sarat.

I got some good news about Dr.Mirudhubashini too.

I would suggest that you e-mail Womens Center and correspond with one of the doctors there before you make your decision. There are many patients from Chennai that travel to Womens Center in Coimbatore on an as needed basis and not necessarily stay there for the duration.

Two of my cousins' wives (brothers) took treatment from Dr Thangam Varma and both are due this month.

From their reports, I heard she is excellent .

I would like to suggest Dr.Jeyarani Kamaraj of Aakash Hospital in Vadapalani...
I was in infertility treatment and now having a five months baby.. In my first visit, many questions were answered.. My DH usually asks everything for twice, she explained it patiently, It took 30 mins to leave the room.... ... Her success rate is good..

During my pregnancy I called her on mobilephone even for a small doubt/discomfort, She attended promptly.. I felt the personal care...

Make up your mind to wait for hours in hospital, I'm not scaring you, This is the real fact with any infertility Specialist.Try to get an Appointment date beforehand...

I started my treatment in Coimbatore with Asha Rao of Rao Hospitals... In the first visit we were forced to leave her room by her assistants, just b'coz my husband interrupted her two mins speech.(She talks only for two mins)..
