Smile Ovulation, the natural way?

Hi friends,

For the last 2 months I missed my periods (not pregnant), which is very frustrating!
If I don't get period that means I'm not ovulating, right? Or women can ovulate but miss period and not pregnant either?
Is there any natural way of bringing on ovulation? Has anyone tried fertility medication to induce ovulation? if so which is best recommended by most doctors?

thanks,
Lalitha

Hi Lalitha,
Since you didn't get your periods for 2 months, its good if you consult a gynec & know why your periods have been delayed.

Until you complete a cycle with periods, I suppose you can't ovulate & start the new cycle!

Once you get your periods, Our body will automatically start the new cycle & ovulation should start. There should be some medications available for stimulating ovulation, But it should have to be prescribed by gynec!

First find the reason for your delayed period! That will solve the quest!

Dear Vasumathy,

Thanks for your kind suggestion . I really appreciate your reply to my queries.
Since i have hypothyrodisim Dr. prescribed me medication to bring my thryoid to stable. I've been taking this medication for 2 years now. Recent blood test shows that my thyroid level is stable and normal. But my horomone level is still out of balance and i want to bring it to normal.
How would you or any ladies do precisely to balance your hormone level?
Any specific diet plan or activities you adopt?
For my blood type (A-) i need to be strict vegan.

with luv,
Lalitha

hi lalisiva,
it is somewhat difficult now a days to achieve hormonal balance with so many processed foods available these days. also the quality of vegetables and fruits have deteriorated with so much use of pesticides.. unless food is oraganic, we cannot get much nutrition...

so check for organic vegetables and fruits...

exercise is also a key to keep hormones in balance..

btw did ur dr say that A- people should be strict vegans ? this is a surprising finding...

It is better to consult a gynaec and determine the cause of delayed periods. Is your periods always regular?

Hi Lalitha,
two month without periods is not good. Did you get a blood test done to see if you are pregnant or not??
As Vasu already mentioned, you cannot ovulate unless u have ur periods.
So please for a gynec checkup.

Dear Hemadurga,

You're right, it is difficult to find the kind of foods that fits our overall health. As you mentioned, i agree that the right diet plan consists of moderate exercise and including plenty of organic fruits and vegies.

My Dr. recommends that according to my blood type (A-) including more vegies, fruits and whole grains and excluding dairy products such as (milk, ice-cream, cheese and yougurt) is vital to maintain my hormone balance.

Since i didn't know about this blood type diet, i've been taking non-vegie items for a couple of years now. So i think that might be the reason for having irreguar periods or i might be wrong. what's your opinion or anyone else opinion regarding this?

thanks for your valuable input. apprecaite it very much.

with luv,
Lalitha.

Dear Manjulats,

My cycles were irregular ever since i started taking non-vegie in my diet. I'm also overweight due to slow metabolism (hypothyrodisim). I'm 5'1' tall, weight about 140lbs. But i'm taking medication for the last couple of years and my recent blood test showed my thyroid level is stable and normal but still i'm not getting my period yet.

I consulted with my GYN, she checked for any ovarian cycsts or pcos and it came out normal. She wants to put me on a birth control pill (provera) to induce period.
I'm so nervous that these birth pills cause any side effects in future aspect.

thanks for your feedback and appreciated it.

Dear hydgrr,

I checked for pregnancy blood test and it came out - negative :( disappointed but my hopes are still positive. i'll keep trying and pray for best.

take care

with luv,
Lalitha.

Hi Lalitha,
I never know there is some connection between blood group & eating habit!
Since you don't have PCOS problem or any other serious issues, be happy. Don't worry!
Just concentrate on diet & bring down your weight. These will help you to regularize your system & soon hormones will come normal. Eat healthier food!

How long you are supposed to used Provera? If its short term, effects will be manageable!
