Re: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
Hi Radhika,
Iam sure PCO's can conceive. But you need patience & regular treatment inorder to succeed. I have PCO and I don't have any irregularities in my period. Though Iam not getting conceived. Iam getting my periods right on every 28th to 30th days. BUT NO LUCK. I think this PCO affects both the conceived part & the miscarriage possibility in pregnancy. Iam also on Metformin. But nothing seems working with hust metformin.
I sometimes wonder, the science & technology has grown so vast and we can even do organ transplantation and etc. But how come, we do not have a surgical cure for PCO. I wish we have some kind of surgery which will clear all the PCO (permanently) and leave our ovaries healthy. The symptoms & effects are really bad.
await you reply.
Thanks

Re: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
Hi there,
I was diagnosed with (PCOS) 2-3 yrs back but i took it lightly then i had a miscaarige after a year of that i took metformin but the other problem was weight i was overweight coz of my last preganancy.
there is something which helped me and i am sharing it with the inetension that it miight help anybody in the same situation too.
With the metformin i used to do prananyam everymorning and evening atleast for 45 min. and within 1month i lost 10 kgs and i think aorund that time i conceived.
another think which was a total no no was eating rice and potato.
that what i did and it worked for me.
i took metformin for 3 months got pregnant but took it for another 3months (1st trimester) as suggested by my doctor.
Hope my exp. miht be useful.
Thanks,
Meetu

Been trying to conceive for past 1.5 years . stoppd taking metformin for the past 1 month since I was feeling nauseaos all the time and was not able to work properly. Clomid dint help too. Got to meet RE this month end.
Apart from that I am telling slokhas which I took from the spritual discussion. Above all, having faith would only help to pass through this situation.

Re: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
Hi meetu,
Glad to see your reply. Atleast we get some kind of hope. Iam also on Metformin, thrice a day. And Iam overweight coz of my last pregnancy. Trying for the 2nd baby for the past 3 years. No luck. As you said, WEIGHT is the biggest problem. It's great that you were able to reduce 10 kgs in a month and conceived sucessfully. Congratulations on that. My doctor is also suggesting the same thing, that I reduce like 10 to 15 kgs and I may get pregnant with that. Iam having Metformin, but nothing seems working.
Can you guide me more on this please. Iam on the exact situation like you were. I've started with my morning Walk for 40 minutes. Could you please send me your food chart (Breakfast, lunch, dinner) that we were having (w/o rice & potato). It would be very helpful.

Re: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
Hi sssk,
The thing which worked for me the most towards reducing my weight was PRANAYAM i used to do that ramdevji pranayam along with his yoga exercise. pranayam used to have 5-6 mudras (but very effective) try it once and u`ll notice the result in a month . I used to do it everymorning and evening. if u want u can get that pranayam on google, if there is a problem lemme know.
but i wud say just give it a try, it`s worth . it took some time for me to start it coz i was more focusing on jogging , treadmill and stuff thinking that how much wud pranayam going to reduce and it`s all farce that u lose so many cal. a day even and likewise.....but the day i started doing it i felt good later got addicited to it. and then came a conviction that yes i am losing wieght and i was .
so i wud recommend u to do it just try for a week but with all sincerity and hopefully u`ll conceive soon. i am saying that coz. some of the pranaym asans are (as they say, and cud be the fact) for dissolving clots or cysyt in the uterus or overies and think about it when they get dissolved why can`t one conceive.
so i wud insist u sh. give it a try. I MIGHT BE SOUNDING LIKE PUSHING UP THIS PRANAYAM THING BUT IT HAS WORKED FOR ME AND YES SEEING IS BELIVEING.
ABOUT the food chart i haven`t done anything special the only thing was not having potato and rice (avoid simple carbohydrates) , so like if u r making beans u just skip potato out of it( just like that but once in 2 weeks or in parties i used to have it) try Chapati in place of rice or u can try whole wheat cracked (Daliya) try lots of salad don`t skip any meal coz that add to our weight, avoid beverages a cup of tea or coffee once or twice a day does no harm though
.
Take care
