    Re: PCos...can I get pregnant?

    Dear adithya,

    Good luck!

Brown spotting is common post IUI.This happens because of progesterone supplements(Injections and medicines).Confirm this with your Gynaec.

Please relax and be cool during this period!

    All the best!

    Re: PCos...can I get pregnant?

Ofcourse there is hope for all of us with pcos. I have had irregular periods ever since I started menstruating. Never bothered me until I wanted to have a kid. Went to a couple og ob-gyns who did the bloodwork, found my hormones to be normal and told me to lose weight. Ha ha ... as if it is so easy to lose weight with pcos.

I wasted 2 years going to crappy ob-gyns. I finally went and met with a fertility specialist. My bloodwork was normal but my fasting sugar was high so she diagnosed me with pcos. I did a couple rounds of clomid but that did not work .. compounding the situation was sperm issues. It took me a year to convince my husband to go for an IUI and then we finally got pregnant on an injectibles/iui cycle. my son is now 9 months old.

I did go on a low-carb diet, which is hard being vegetarian, but that seemed to do the trick on the losing weight issue. I lost about 15 pounds in 4 months and that seems to have done the trick wrt getting pregnant.

The good part though is that after my delivery, my cycles seemed to have regularized themselves ... I now get a period every 40-42 days!

    PCOS, what to do?

    hi
i have so many references to pcos.....i have pcos but still get periods regularly. however i have a seedling uterine fibroid. ovulate regularly but the egg doesn't release. miscarried twice at 12-14weeks. desperately trying for a baby.
have been adviced to take ovacure, folic acid and metformin for 3 months. will i get pregnant??? dh lab reports are normal. my dh loves babies. i feel so insecure. i feel that we should divorce.
i feel so inadequate. all my friends have children. some even two kids also. for me none at all despite me being married before them. i have seen so many persons being put on metformin. what does it actually do. i have been put on metformin 500mg thrice a day. will it really help me. my periods are so regular. i am over weight. and am on a diet plan and exercises. please advice soon.

    re: PCOS, what to do?

    hi,
i don't know anything about the treatment but still wanted to reply to ur query.
pls ,trust the doctor & do as he says.many people have benefited & so will u.trust & pray to God but don't get desperate.
its been only one yr to ur marriage & u r loosing hope.common many people in ur shoes did not even started planning for baby......

don't be doubtful but be Hopeful............

pls, don't compare urself with ur friends.u are getting to spend precious time with ur dh which they lack......
u have concieved twice so the medicine is helping.unfortunately,u miscarried both time but maybe ur body was not ready then.do mild exercise & eat balance food.but the must thing is stay stress free.do mediation or pray.it helps.
    all the best

    re: PCOS, what to do?

are you referring to polycystic ovary syndrome???
weight is a very important issue as far as health is considered..
please check what your BMI would indicate..
and one small advise if you dont mind.. I think only a doctor can advise about this better..
here you can rather rely on for the mental support...
As I can see you are a local.. please pm me your gynic..
may be I can suggest you some good gynic...

    Don't worry
And please don't feel that way..
Surely a way could be found

Don't forget to pm me..I will try to suggest some good doctor for you

    cheers

    re: PCOS, what to do?

    HI SD,
May be your overweight is the reason for your troubles. Try to reduce it. Find your BMI. Fit your weight with your BMI.
Since you have conceived already, you will surely conceive. Its matter of time & your body's preparation for the child.
Do continue your Metformin along with perfect diet & sincere exercises. Surely you will conceive & carry it to the full term soon! Baby dust to you....

    One advice to you....
Never compare anyone with you for anything! Everyone's life, troubles & happiness are different. You will not get anything but stress at the end of your comparison. Try to be happy for what you got & for what you are!

    re: PCOS, what to do?

it sounds to me like your problems are caused by insulin resistance. thats why the doctor has put you on metformin. I was in the same boat, pcos, overweight, not able to conceive despite being on metformin. the only thing that helped me was getting on a low carb diet and excercise. I lost 15 pounds and was then able to conceive and have a 9 month old now. so don't lose hope. concentrate on making your body well prepared for sustaining a pregnancy means a better i..e low carb diet, moderate excercise and a positive outlook. ask your doctor to do a test called Hemoglobin A1c - if the level is above 6.0 then even if you conceive the chances of miscarriage are high. diet and excercise should help you bring down the level to less than 6 . good luck!!

    re: PCOS, what to do?

    hi pmahensa
i have given my blood for the test. it was prescribed by my gynec. the results take three weeks it seems. pls tell me what diet should i follow to reduce wt. everybody is saying low carb diet. i am a complete vegetarian. not even egg for me. my problem is i got pregnant when i was not on any medication.
when i try to conceive using medicines i never even release the egg. some times it releases and i didn't get pregnant. even with injections also i did not release eggs.

    worried... pls advice

    Hi there,

Being worried by myself last few days...
I am going to be 34 this june..

previously my gyne have asked me to reduce my weight around 30 kg, but i have only reduce to 14.5 kg so far... my hubby asking me see the gyne for treatment/checkup to get conceive after our 48 days pooja which will be complete this friday.

Should i wait till i reduce another 15 kg ???

He is worried tht I will take another few months to reduce another 15 kgs...
by the time i will be near to 35 years old... i know it very difficult to get conceive after 30s....

i'm worried now.. what should i do ???

Just to let u know, i have not done any test or treatment for TTC before this. I just saw a gyne on July 08 for my irregular menses and advice me reduce my weight.. She gave me metaformin and told me that i might have PCOS. After that i didn't go for any treatment cause i was worried about the medicine side effect and decide to reduce weight.. i tried many diet plans.. but just recently got a suitable one... and i have reduce to 14.5kg so far.

pls advice... it's being bothering me a lot !!! can't sleep at nite !
