    Dear friends
I had a huge fibroid on the outer side (anterior wall) of the uterus (2.5 kg) and was operated (open surgery) in Dec 2013. Doc advised us to try for conception after 6 months. Now it is 1 y 6 m after surgery. We are trying for an year. Yet to conceive. Had clomid 4 cycles and was in vain. Now we had all tests done, and we both are perfectly fine. past 2 months i was on clomid and some more medications. but no positive response.
Anybody has the same experience? Can you pl share.

Have you consulted a reproductive endocrinologist?
If the inside of the uterine cavity was not affected by the surgery then there should not have been any adverse effects. If they had to cut into the cavity then there may be adhesions or scarring. Have you had a hysteroscopy to look at the uterine cavity and lining, and/or a HSG to see if the tubes are clear?
I had an abdominal myomectomy three years ago, to remove intramural fibroids. However I have severe adenomyosis, so we have moved on to IVF.
A year is a long time to be trying. I would go to a specialist.

Thank you so much for the post. One good thing was my uterine cavity was not entered and only the outer huge fibroid on anterior wall was removed. I have few smaller fibroids in the inner side but the tube test has shown that it is not blocking the tube. Both the tubes are patent. Since the uterine cavity was not entered during myomectomy no scars are there. My husband's count is also good. So doc has suggested for IUI. Hoping to conceive with that.
I have not heard of reproductive endocrinology. I will surely check. Thanks for the info..
