Is UTI common while TTC?

    Hi All,

    Is Urinary Infection common while trying to conceive? I'm having it for second continuous month. Also few of my fiends say that If I take tablets for controlling UTI, it might affect the foetus and I should avoid conceiving? Is it true?

    Well am not sure whether all in TTC way get it but I had been getting it every 6 mths. Nothing to panic. Consult a good doc, have medicines. Drink plenty of fluids.

    my doctor sugested asit is only she given a tonic for it which contains cranberry
    it works for me

    no, its not common in ttc.
    you should visit a general physician and take course of antibiotics which generally they suggest.
    also drink plenty of water and wash your genitals 2 times a day with mild soap say dove etc.(one time we all take bath, second is you can wash before sleeping every night) I am following above things and it helped me lot as precaution measures to avoid UTI

    Swati, just wanted to highlight ... I'd read somewhere using soap etc daily will kill the goodness of the cm... especially when you are ttc it's not a good idea. I might be wrong but do a google search.

    Drink more cranberry juice dear it will help to avoid/prevent UTI. If juice is not available you can use the cranberry tablet.( guess its hard to find cranberry in your location) Last yr I had the same UTI issue, my DR prescribed me cranberry tablet cranmed.

    You can ask your DR about this. Take more fresh curd, it will help you alot. :)

    yes that's why I use dove it has lot of moistures and doesn't make vagina dry.

    apply coconut oil to not dry it and cranberry juice both kill that probelm.

    It is important to always pee after intercourse if you are prone to UTI as bacteria can go up the urethra during sexual activity. Peeing will flush it out.
