What is HPT ?? You mean UPT (Urine pregnancy test)

If you meant UPT, then you can buy kit in any medical stores.
Generally it will give accurate results..

But sometimes if its late implantation, u mite get negative.

I got negative on 30th day(had done clomid + timed IC), and later on
40th day got positive. (ended in MC)

So blood test would give accurate result. so i suggest do upt,
also go and do blood test, for people like(having trouble conceiving)
They need to put us on medical support from moment we know
we are conceived, to avoid miscarriage and stuff

hey thanks suma. By HPT, I mean Home Pregnancy Kit. Sorry to create confusion. I bought preganews today. will test it tomorrow morning.

I was on clomid from day 2 to 5. searched the net and found that clomid might delay the cycle.

I talked to my doc and he told me to visit him if I do not get AF in another 2-3 days. Should I go for blood test also tomorrow or wait for 2-3 days and visit doc?

    HI amicably

If i am not wrong you were to go for IVF right ???

Did you went through Clomid cycle to grow follicles and
    had IUI or timed intercourse?

If you had tried naturally or with clomid, there might be a chance.

Guess you checked today morning, whats the UPT result ?

    Hi Amicably,

Praying for you...I sincerely hope it is POSITIVE!!! Even if it is not positive, go for a blood test if your AF doesn't show up.

    Keeping fingers crossed.

    Keep us posted.

Thanks for including me in ur prayers friends. even if its BFN this time.. I still need it..

Sumalynx, yes, I am on IVF. However doc wanted to do a natural IVF, wherein he will give me clomiphene (clomid) tablets to have relatively fewer no. of follicles (I already have 2 embies freezed from last traditional IVF. Doc wanted atleast 2-3 more embryos). However after 5 days of the tablets, doc didn't find more than 1 follicle, so he told me not to go for the natural IVF and hence clomid was discontinued.

Next in his plan is minimal IVF protocol, wherein there wont be down regulation. instead from day2 after my AF he will keep me on tablets, and injection on need basis for stimulation. This will be followed by ER. Just keeping faith on the doc.

    Amicably

As said earlier in my posts. In clinic i go, they group IVF'ers and within 2-3days
difference we were around 6 people doing ivf more or less same time.

3 out of them, just got 2-3 Embryo's (that to not grade A embryo).
So my doctors suggestion for them was to do IVF Looping i.e

In 1st IVF, if anyone gets just 1-2 embryo's, she freezes them,
and immediate cycle does one more IVF, retrieves
couple more eggs, and does 4 embies transfer..

Once its clear that we need High dose of injections to stimulate
follicles, i dint like your doctors idea of going back to Clomiphene
which is very 1st level of stimulating Follicles..

As per my knowledge methods to grow follicles.

    1. Clomid/clomiphene/letroze (Natural cycle or IUI)
    - Some people get follicles growth with this.

    2. FSH injections (Natural cycle or IUI)
    - If people dint respond to clomid, they are either combined
with clomid + injections, or only injections.

    3. Menopure injections (IVF, ICSI)
    - If people dont respond to clomid/injections they are
moved to Menopure. (Or similar injections)

Unless you were responding good, and growing follicles during
Clomid/FSH it doesnt make sense to me to try clomid after
    freezing two embies......

And by the way, how many eggs were retreived ?? Because if
you had retrevied more eggs, and only 2 fertilised/made it to embryo
then it was better for your doctor to use ICSI, instead of natural embryo
    dish cultivation.

My doc follows this protocol, if someone gets less than or 5 embryos
she does ICSI, as not to waste follicles as with ICSI, there is more
    chance for Fertilization...

Have you checked about success rate of the clinic ??
Since this is 6th ivf, i personally dint like the idea of
" relatively not-so-well known doctor" unless they have
    good success rate

But if your comfortable, and satisfied with doctor, then
Please check all above doubts with your doctor,
so you can have better result...

Sometimes, it needs more than few IVFS for success.
So dont give up.. Go with a reputed doctor, who has
    good success rates.

Check this, they needed 8 IVF's before they saw success

    hi Suma,

Thanks for sharing this info. I am getting educated with more and more info day by day through IL.

This is my first IVF with this doctor earlier IVFs were with a different doctor in a different city altogether. Currently, I am undergoing treatment in Pune at Gupte hospital.
There are two main reasons for me choosing this doctor over others in same city:
    1. They have a good name in the city. Have heard a few success stories.
    2. Doctor gives personal attention and he himself answers queries all by himself rather than assistants doing the talking. I can call him up directly for any queries. (which was lacking with my previous doctor.)

I know clomid is not the way after so many IVFs, considering I am poor responder to stimulation injections. We did discuss this with the doctor, but he says - even with high stimulation dose if I am not responding good, then we can have lower dose cycle and retrieve fewer eggs. So we gave-in to his suggestion of a natural cycle. He is looking for 2 more embies from the cycle.

In my last traditional IVF cycle, where only ER was done resulting in 2 embies, (both being freezed for selective FET), 5 eggs were retrieved. All my cycles have been ICSI because of low count of my DH. ICSI resulted in 3 embies - 2 grade A and 1 not of good quality. So actually all 3 are freezed but out of them only 2 are grade A.

We are planning to check with doctor again if natural cycle will really be of any help as we do not want to waste more time doing trials. Patience is steadily in decline.
