Negative test with a missing period. Am confused. Please Help!!!!!

Hi Everyone

I am always regular with my periods.its always 26-27 days cycle. i had my last Period on Feb14th. January period was on 19th.
I haven't yet got my period this month. And i am feeling tired and feverish these days. so i took pregnancy test today in the evening twice, which showed negative.

What are my chances of being pregnant? Should i wait for few more days? or if it is negative now, i am for sure not pregnant?

I am really very confused. please help me out.

Hi dear...
The best thing to do is wait for a another 3/4 days and check again.... But you should use the first undiluted urine in the morning( that may contain the maximum amount of hormone...as the day goes by and you drink more water the urine gets diluted and you may not have enough hormones to be detected using the test)

but if you cannot wait for long you can get an appointment with doctor for a blood test. Blood test is more confirmatory even before your expected date.

Hi allI have done a urine test in the morning and it seemed negative. Also i have spotted some red discharge. So i thought i am having my periods. But after sometime when i checked the test plate which i took in the morning, a faint line was seen, which confused me again I am having a reddish discharge, but i don't see any full flow as in periods. So was worried and went to doc(gynic) in the evening.she said its too early to confirm anything. She said that reddish discharge is common in a normal pregnancy.Asked me to have blood test twice with 48hrs gap. Gave my first sample today. Will give the second one on monday.When i told my mom, she said that this could be a case of false withdrawal where egg is fertilised late with the sperm. So it will take more time to fertilise and the result to come.Is this true? Can someone please help me with this.Am totally confused and worried. Help me with any information you have on this.

At times it will take little longer for conception and the it will be hard to show up the hCG levels in urine. If the count gets doubled in 48 hours, then there is good progress in the pregnancy. So, its better to wait & watch. Take a good rest until things clear out!

You should see the urine strip for results until 5 minutes from the test time! After that the results are unreliable.

Hi All

Its a negative. i have got my period on 16th.
Don't know the reason why it got delayed. Hubby says its because of work pressure. first time having a delayed period till date.

Thank you all for the support and information.
