Default HSG Test?

Hi Ladies,
Has anyone undergone HSG test? Can you please share your experience?
My doctor has advised for the same and I will be taking it next week. I read about HSG on internet and feeling bit tensed.

hi devotee,

i had a HSG too to see if any blockages are there in my fal.tubes and uterus...it was a quite painful when they insert the dye into the cervix....and pained a little for a day after the test...but my doc told me i had no blockage and said that even if there were any this HSG test itself may help clearing them....dont worry, when compared to the delivery pain and the joy of having a baby, this is really nothing at all...
all the best!

There is nothing to worry about it ...it takes few minutes & you may have mild discomfort .I have taken the test to see for any blockages in fallopian tube..I didnt experience any pain .

Hi Vidhya/Indhu,
Thanks so much for your replies.
Is it necessary to fast before the test? Any other preparations needed?
Can we try for pregnancy in the same cycle or have to wait till next cycle?

Regards,
Devotee

hi vidya,

no fasting necessary....just remove the pubic hair and that should do....i was also anxious to know if i can try to conceive in the same cycle..but my gyny told me to wait for the next cycle so that all the dye injected into the uterus will be flushed out by the next period flow...
all the best!

Thanks Vidhya for the quick reply.
Is it really necessary to remove public hair? I am scared because I have never done it before.

Also, if you dont mind can you please let me know what was the fertility treatment you received after HSG?

hi vidya,
removing pubic hair is for hygeine reasons and for making it easy for the doc to perform HSG...u may just apply some anne french, leave it on for 10 min and wash off while having bath...
i had PCOS, so my gyn gave me metformin (0-0-1) and fertibex(1-0-0) along with
B-long F(0-0-1) i took them for a few months before conceiving...
and i was on a low carb high fibre diet...
