    Hi friends,

i am 34 now and ttc form three years and my hubby is 36, as i married late i am trying from the day one, we tried for 6 months then i went to doctor they made as basic checkups and blood test for me and my hubby and the results were normal, and also they made follicular study i ovulated on day 13, they advised to take some folic acid and suggested to try naturally for some time, againt after 6 months i went to infertility specialist they put me on clomid for 3 cycles and also 1 cycle of iui.......nothing worked for me..
then i decided to go for IVF and after 6 months ie may 2011 i went for my 1ST IVF - 8 oocyst retrived , 5 fertilized and 2 transferd( 1-grade A , 2- grade B) on day 3 and nothing to freeze becos of poor quality.
    RESULTS- NEGATIVE
they suggested me to go for HSG....results normal
again i went for 2nd IVF in december 2011
2ND IVF- 13 oocyst 8 fertilized 6 good quality , 2 tansferd ( 1-grade A AND 2-grade B) on day 2, 4 kept for freezing( next day they said they are not suitable for freezing so discarded)
then i discussed with the doctor..he said both the times embryos were good. so.....next time u go for 5 day transfer (balstocyst)
then i broswsed in the internet i came to know the reason for repeated ivf failure may be some times embryo does not develope further as they have some of genetical defects...

now i am totally lost .....dont know what to do next.....what is the solution
what is the treatment to overcome genetical defects
any one has the same problem??? please share
please suggest homeopathic or ayurvedic has treatment for this
what to do next ????? what is the solution???
should i go for surrogacy or egg donation ??
any good doctor in india for such problems
    please help ...........

    hi twinbabyhopes :),
dont lose hope so soon dear. m facing da same situation as yours.the only difference is i hav undergone IVF more times than u. n my doc said the same thing dat maybe due to some genetic defect the embryo growth is arrested. that made me cry for days which of course didnt help.has ur doc suggested sending ur husband's semen sample for karyotyping?? this wud eliminate any doubts of genetic defect in the sperm at least.. i know it is confusing n very depressing but u sudnt give up.i havent.. i even went to the extent of getting somebody else's embryo transferred in my womb to see whther it grows or not. it didnt so doc concluded it might be the womb that's not supporting the pregnancy. ( dnt quite agree with it but... ) now m thinking of surrogacy though my doc says i sud go for another round of IVF.n there are people for whom IVF has worked at the 8th/9th time. keep trying 'twinbabyhopes'... m sure u wil be blessed soon. prayers for u :)))

thanks for ur reply and kind words

my DH did not go for karyotyping ..he did DNA fragmaentation test and its normal..
i have many doubts in my mind i dont know how to clear them
the doctor says they dont know the reason why IVF failed
and so they told me to go for ivf with blastocyst transfer.....if the embryo develope to blasocyst then the chances of further development are more
but still i dont know exactly what to do next
but i want to lknow in any such cased ivf is success .....??
and any treatment for the genetic problem??

when IVF fails inspite of Grade 1 embryos and excellent looking endometrium it puzzles the docs too!!!! n sometimes they dnt hav answers either...( exactly what i hav been going through). n i hav many doubts n questions myself so i can understand all that u r going through.
IVF with blastocsyt transfer is certainly said to be more successful so if ur doc has suggested it then u should go for it. a blastocyst is a 5 day old embryo n has more chances of sticking to the womb.
but has ur doc checked u for antibodies?? sometimes the reproductive system comes under immunological attack.so what happens is when an embryo is transfered to the womb our body automatically rejects it.so after rounds n rounds of failed IVF my doc suggested i send my blood for this 'natural killer cells' test. if at all they r found the treatment is to take steriods which will lower the body's defence mechanism n get rid of those 'killer cells'.
n as far as m aware of n from what my doc says we can ascertain whether the embryo has any genetic problem but u cannot 'treat' a genetically defective embryo. :( .. but hey ..dnt worry.wil pray for a successful blastocyst transfer fr u.just keep ur will power strong..it will work.it should work. n in today's world with so much research n development happening m sure our pregnancy days arent far off :) :)
    wish u lots of luck.take cre .

I had tears in my eyes when I read thru this tread .... and hats off to your attitude to just look ahead and next step... I hv not yet cm in terms of my icsi failure ... i am depressed, irritated, n probably crying thru n thru
I was told by my doc that my eggs were not of good quality ... the content of cytoplasam was not sufficient... my doc told me that once the embryo is formed they transfer it when it is in abt 8 cell stage or a lil more say 16 cells on day 5 ... if u require assisted hatching then they wud wait for a day more... when the quality of the eggs are real good they can sustain the cell division till they implant in the womb so a real good diet is the key is wht my doc said... i really do not though.. as I hv seen real poor eaters with bad stamina get naturally pregnant ... and deliver LOs with ease...

abt the antibodies you can be treated for that with a medication called prednisolone or equivalent (pls check with your doc for this) for a month

abt the genetic defect detection ...you can get a DFI (DNA fragmentation Index) test done with CASA as it is said that it is the content on the sperm that triggers the cleaving after fertilization ..

do update us on the progress

    Hi Twin baby hopes,
Know is drop, unknown i ocean! What we know on IVF success/failure is drop compared to the unknown part! No one knows the reason for the failure of any TTC attempt! I have taken up one fresh IVF cycle & one frozen. Fresh cycle ET is of 5th day transfer, still it didn't turn good in-spite of everything good for an IVF! Docs couldn't answer me the right reason for the failure & gave a gross answer! :)
Failure in IVF doesn't mean there are any genetic disorder! There are numerous reasons for a failed IVF which we never know! May be transferring a balstocyst might do wonder! Try it!
As hope23 told, sometimes our body resists those embryos thinking them as antibodies & causes the failure. They say the same reason for IUI failure! Our body need to adopt to the procedure, only then it can lead to success! Sometimes its so easy to catch the fruit, sometimes we need to work harder to get it!
Just relax, Make your body more health; Try again until you succeed. Surrogacy is not an end!

    twinbabyhopes,

Have u gotten checked for Endometeriosis? A very close friend of mine had trouble with implantation and development due to ENDO.

Don't lose hope. You will have a baby soon
