    Hi all,

I am thinking of visiting Dr. Abha Majumdar of Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. But I have heard that she is rude and does not give time to her patients.

I was hoping if someone here at IL who might have visited her could give me some idea about her.

    Regards
    Saudamini

    Hi ,

I havent personally met her but I have heard the +ve as well as the -ve things abt it. I think each has her own experience. Its better to have one meeting with her and one would get the feelers. She is an experienced one though

Hi, I understand this post is very old but i want to share my experience for others who are facing the dilemma of choosing a good infertility specialist.

I felt that Dr. Abha though experienced and knowledgeable has become very commercial in her dealings with patients. The only patients she meets herself are those coming for the first time or coming with a pregnancy. She meets them very warmly.

Rest of the patients are at the mercy of her juniors. The junior we meet everytime namely Dr. Tejshree Singh is really not worth going there. She is mostly in a hurry and is rude if you ask basic questions. To top it, I felt that even the medicines she writes are to be taken with caution as she does not even read the history properly.

Dr. Abha is very inaccessible and you do feel very helpless in the middle of ongoing treatment.

All this after paying a such a hefty sum of money.
    Totally not worth it.

    Dear Doc13,
Many thanks for the reply. I havent gone to Dr. Abha yet bcoz of the similar comments that I heard from other people.

Are you also suffering from PCOD? Did you conceive? Which doctor did you visit?

I am also based in Delhi and am at loss after almost 7 years of treatment as to which doctor to visit?

    Regards
    Saudamini

    Dear Saudamini,

I'm also having PCOD and presently i'm consulting Dr. Uma Sarin in "Sitaram Bhartia Institute of Research" Hauz Khas Delhi. I find her very clear in her findings and prescriptions and like the way she listens and answers the patients. She hears the patients very calmly and answers very understandingly. I would recommend you meet her once atleast and then its upto you if you would like to take up treatment from her or not. She is a senior Dr. aged b/w 50-55 yrs and quite learned. Hope this helps....

Had my laparoscopy done by her last weekend 12/11/11.. I'll be going to meet her on 19th or 20th nov.. coming weekend. she z in gurgaon on sunday (i live in gurgaon so convenient for me), tuesday and friday in Sitaram Bhartia (Gynae OPD) and otherwise daily (except sunday) she can reached at her residence in Malviya Nagar.
If you would like to meet her please let me know and i can give you all the details.
    baby dust to you
    regards

    Dear Saudamini,

I am suffering from PCOD and ovulation problems. Unfortunately, I have not been to any other doctor. I had got my first IUI done from Dr. Abha's clinic (which she didn't do herself) last cycle. It was unsuccessful.

Giving her the benefit of doubt, I did one more cycle with her this month (IUI again) and waiting for results now. But I'm very saddened by their careless attitude even this time and will change doctors in case this cycle does not work.
This time I tried hard to bypass the junior doctor and meet Dr. Abha directly , waited for hours just to talk to her for 2 minutes but most of the times couldn't meet her.

However, I don't know where to go too :(

    Dear Doc,
Where do you stay in delhi?
    I stay in Kalkaji.

I also have PCOD and have visited many docs. The last being Dr. Nimmi Rastogi. I have had few IUIs also, but unsuccessful.

I have observed that in my case, if I slack even a little bit on my exercise and diet, ovulation meds like letrozole also dont have any effect on me.

So now I am trying to control my diet and exercise and am having baba ramdev's ayurvedic meds for pcod. I even managed to ovulate on my own once after having the meds and exercise etc. But due to some circumstances could not continue with either the meds or the diet and exercise and so was back to the same old condition.

But now again I have started exercise and diet and keeping fingers crossed. Would visit any other doctor only when I get control over my weight and diet, otherwise for me it would be useless.

All the best to you for your current IUI.

    Lots of sticky baby dust

    Cheers
    Saudamini

    Dear Curious28,
Could not reply you back from PM. So replying to your message "can you please tell me which ayurvedic medicines are you taking? Stri-rasayan vati and chandra prabhavati are the two i know... are there any others you are having... if u can plz tell me the full course given to you.." here

The ayurvedic meds that I am taking have been prescribed by doctors from patanjali clinic. they are:
    - Shivalingi beej powder (beej is available, you have to make powder at home)
    - Putrajeevak beej powder (again you have to make powder at home)
    - Phalghrit
    - Ashokarisht
    - Stri-rasayan vati
    - chandra prabhavati

The doctor has not given me any time period. I just need to visit them once the meds are over to give a feedback on the progress as well as if any change in meds is required.

Along with the meds, I have to do few pranayams also.

    Hope it helps

    Cheers
    Saudamini

Wanted to add something else. I am now trying to have an exercise and diet type healthy lifestyle. If you wish, we could become weight loss buddy or pcod buddy (in the 'diet and exercise diary' forum) where we can share our daily food and exercise ritual ( I have to lose at least 10 kg). I have heard that being accountable helps in keeping the healthy lifestyle goal.

    Till then
    c ya
    regards
    Saudamini
